Who cares what Adam Schein says...they play the games on the field. Piling on the Redskins makes it easier for these guys to get to press on time. It's a no brainer article that they all pass around. It should just roll off all our backs...

You know what? With all the hating coming from virtually every major news outlet about the Redskins, I'm starting to embrace an underdog mentality. Screw 'em.
Many of us have already said this, but I feel like not a single member of the media (outside of the Washington DC area, where the press has been upbeat as of late) paid any attention to our performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers. In the third preseason game - the game everyone agrees to be the most important barometer for a team going into the season - the Redskins defense, "banged up" and "distracted" as it supposedly is, held the Steelers (who many of these so-called experts are picking to win their division and possibly the Super Bowl) without an offensive touchdown. Not only that, but Patrick Ramsey played well with the exception of one play, the line opened up huge holes throughout the first half, and Clinton Portis flourished. It wasn't a dominating performance, to be sure, but given the competition, this should be a legitimate cause for some positive coverage. What irks me most is that this latest batch of expert predictions have been published well after our 17-10 performance! Agreed, we were bad last year, and have been bad for the last few years. But it seems as though these sports writers outside of the Washington area are simply not looking at the most recently available information. Statements like "The Redskins will be a last place team" or "The Redskins will go 4-12" come off as uninformed, especially in light of the Giants' latest poor performance in their third preseason game. We all know (thanks Ol' Ball Coach) that we shouldn't put too much stock in the preseason, but these latest reports seem to be putting absolutely no stock in it.
So, I say we embrace the underdog mentality here. Though we may not be sure how good we really are yet, we all know that we're better than these experts are giving us credit for. The season opener is just over a week away - let's let the win/loss column speak for itself.
I have had a gut FULL of reading this BS. However, the good part is Joe and the team are reading it too!! It will be a powerful motivator!
