Profootballtalk.com which is an excellant site by the way, and funny as hell, is reporting that the Eagles are close to signing McCants. This one is gonna haunt us Im afraid, but better him then Price.

McCant knows our playbook and that's probably why they want to sign him. I would if it will give me some insight into the mind of Gibbs.

As far as this haunting us, it is totally out of our control, the guy was playing like a turd here, and there was no room for him. Sure, he might get a second wind, or find some motivation and pickup his game, but that doesn't mean he was going to do that with the skins ...

As far has him knowing our playbook, I don't think its a concern, this guy supposedly wasn't even looking at our plays. If that was case we would have palyed the eagles better when we got trotter and the giants when we got armstead and barrow. Not to mention Thrash, who you cat bet knew the eagles play book real well ....

Well I hope that he isn't any better than Trotter was at explaining the Philly blitz packages to Spurrier. Then again I don't think Spurrier even knew Trotter's first name?
I kind of don't like players who stay in the same division. Don't they understand how much we hate our divisional rivals in the East?

Maybe now he can sing the diddy for McNabb's commercials?

The "intelligence" that other teams can gather from signing a player like McCants is very limited. Coaches know opponents are going to sign former players and fill the playbook with dummy plays and formations. Moreover, Gibbs is revamping his playbook and he probably doesn't know how he is going to gameplan for the first DC-Philly game. So, I don't see McCants' signing as a threat to us (at least in terms of intelligence).

I expect McCants to make the team. I also anticipate that he will be the #4 wideout for Philly; with Owens, Lewis, and White ahead of him on the depth chart. While I'm not nervous about the signing, I think McCants will do well (for a #4 wideout) in Philly.

I doubt this will haunt us. Plus I'm hearing that the Eagles are more interested in Peerless Price. Wherever McCants lands....I doubt he'll make that much of an impact.

Profootballtalk.com used to be a wildly inaccurate site. I would often write of their "reports" as pure rumor and speculation. However, in the past few months, the site has been improving. I don't always take their reports at face value, but on occasion they have some interesting "articles."

PS-They usually are pretty funny.

oi, what i was afraid of. maybe that's why Gibbs cut him first round, cuz he's a DOUBLE-AGENT?

hope McCants wasn't paying any kind of attention.
