The Washington Redskins are adding another 5,000 seats to FedEx Field, the third significant expansion in four years to the NFL's largest stadium. The new seats, located primarily along the back of sections 114-129 on the visitors' side of the field, will push FedEx Field's capacity to nearly 92,000, or about 12,000 seats more than the league's second-largest facility, Giants Stadium.

I'm on the season ticket waitlist and received a call from 'The Redskins' saying that there was great news about the availability of season tickets. I didn't return the call but I see on the website that they added some premium seats. You can get little customizable plaques on the seatbacks and the seat bottoms are cushioned. I don't want that crap! It's not like I ever sit in the seat during a game anyway. The biggest question here is, 'did they add more parking spaces to accomodate these extra 5k seats?' I bet not.

I've never had a problem getting parking at the games I've been to. Of course, I'm there ten minutes after they open the gate tailgating my face off.

Gmanc711:
Last year was the year to "score tix" to Fed Ex. If you could not find seats last year, you couldn't find your butt with either hand. An out of town visitor and I went to a game last year on a whim. We got our tickets on Friday before the game and paid less than face value for them.
Tix will be harder to get this year with or without the new seats. One thing is probably true. The new seats are not likely to be good ones. There are lots of bad seats at Fed Ex so the addition of 5000 new seats is not likely to add any "prime locations" - except for the new luxury boxes that are a bit out of my price range.

I can bear witness to the fact that Brud is there in a timely fashion. I managed to drag my fiancee to Fed Ex Field 4 hours before the place opened, but it was my first visit.

I know that some of the seats added will be "Dream Seats". I have a friends who has two of these - they are front row in the end zone, and he received a note saying that two more front rows were being added, so he would be even closer to the action.
Having sat in these seats before, I can safely say that my friend will be breaking up passes if he wants to.
