What is with the sigs?

Why is there a 250 character limit on the sigs? I think it's a bit ridiculous, i had a list of 10 things i was gonna put in there but i had to cut it down to 5 to make it fit. You guys should expand it to give us a little more freedom.

its there cause long sigs and videos in sig are super f***ing annoying... look at ES, and if i had to scroll through multiple 10+ line sigs in a thread i'd want to shoot someone.

yah i like the amount that it is right now. Sigs look bad and i don't even like how long mine is. I like the clean look and i think 250 is just fine. If it was 500 i would have 4 quotes and if it was 1000 i would have 8 quotes, so limits are good for people like me

It becomes distracting when sigs are longer than posts - there are some sites that put no restrictions on signatures (I'm looking at you, Extremeskins) and it clutters the site (Or in their case, adds to the abundant clutter. I'm a little bitter.)

Actually, you should consider starting a post about top ten season goals. That might be very interesting.

Yeah--most sites have way too much stuff going on with sigs, avatars, pictures, falsh movies, etc. Can't read the dang posts that way!

if you don't like it, then why are you here? really, it seems a bit silly... why don't you go through and compliment us every time we say something nice about extremeskins too? If you want to change any perceptions, this is the WRONG way to go about it.

The content and access as ES is usually pretty good, but the color scheme and huge sigs on all those one line posts is distracting. If you disagree with the opinions here, that's fine, but that doesns't mean they're wrong or out of line.

I think he's referring to all the pictures and flash animations that are on various sigs

Many of us simply don't like distracting sigs. Its just our opinion. It is one of the main issues I hear when it comes to extremeskins. I don't know why you seem to think we sit around and bash extremeskins all the time around here. Some of us simply don't like it and have said so. Talking about extremeskins is one of the last things most of us care about. I would assume those who are extremeskins loyalists don't sit around talking about the other sites. When it is pertinent we do discuss the other sites. By pertinent I mean there is an pressing issue that deserves discussion. Please back off with the attacks. None of us are looking for a fight.

well its not like we sit around talking about extremeskins all day but like FR said if something deals with a topic it is neccasary to say something. And in a discusion about why long ass sigs are annoying extremeskins is bound to come up
