Campbell Joins Linebackers
The Redskins signed linebacker Khary Campbell to a two-year contract after the 6-foot-1, 230-pounder performed well during last month's minicamp.
Campbell played the previous two years with the New York Jets before being released last season after suffering a severe hamstring injury. Campbell was a major contributor on New York's special teams and provided depth as an outside linebacker. He likely will have a similar role with the Redskins, and would provide insurance should the team lose restricted free agent linebacker Antonio Pierce to another team. According to sources, the Minnesota Vikings have expressed an interest in Pierce.
Also, the Redskins released defensive tackle Reggie McGrew and wide receiver Kevin Swayne.
