Much better to get twitterpated over 2 games that don't count

I don't think you use the word right necessarily, nonetheless props to you for representing Owl and using the word "twitterpated" in a post about the Redskins. Bambi! What!!!

I'm not sure I understand all the ranting about champions winning close games etc.....I just said that if we win games they will be close, not blowouts. And Ramsey's mistakes will cost us those close games. And beating the Giants and the Niners is nothing to be too proud of. I will say the Minnesota win was big and he played well but the Vikes looked uninspired in that game and went up to Green Bay and Handed them their ass......Anwyay....I'm ranting. I just think Ramsey is not an adequate QB to take this team where we all want them to go..........Playoffs, Super Bowl etc..... Look I love the Redskins, I just hate Ramsey........and I hope at some point in this season I can come back to this particular topic and apologize for raping Ramsey, but I know I'm right and I don't see us winning with Ramsey.

No worries, Skinny. :)

I just think folks are getting overly critical. I get the feeling if we go 10-6, make the play off and lose in the divisional round, folks will still rake PR over the coals if his stats arn't Marino like.

God forbid we turn into fans like that, because it is about wins not stats - that was my point about Simms - his stats were ass but they won the SB.

Actually I remember watching Theismann in his first season at RFK stadium. So I'm well aware of his mistakes. The problem I have with Ramsey is one that Gibbs has had since he returned as Head Coach. (Rule 1.) Don't Turn the Ball Over. Throw the ball away, but don't turn the ball over. Ramsey started his first game as a QB under Gibbs with 2 ints against the Giants. A game I also attended. Ramseys' dilemma is a lack of composure in tight coverage primarily in the red zone. He's either grossly missed his target or underthrown his pass for the int. There doesn't appear to be any consistency at all in his performances from game to game. The acquisition of Jason Campbell confirms that Ramsey's time in Washington is just about over. It is sad to think that a QB who has overwhelming support from his fans could blow his opportunity on a future team.

if you were there, you should remember it was 3 ints ;)

I just think people are jumping the gun... brunell went 2-4 had a 50% completion rate and was throwing for under 100yards a game last year. I really think we should chill and let ramsey have his shot, the running game is good, the oline is improved, the scheme looks remarkably better than the crap we ran last year, and our defene is still good. If decisions are his problem, experience and film study is the easiest solution. He's not as lead footed as bledsoe, he doesn't have a noodle arm... The team around him is pretty good now it seems. Let's see how he does at least until the bye week. If he's absolutely killing us, there's an entire week and 0-2 isn't imposible to overcome... though if we lose to the bears something is obviously really wrong.

Well if we're going to get specific, the first game he started was against the Eagles, in which he threw one interception.

i actually think our offense is becoming good now, all we have to do is cut down on turnovers and we could actually have a decent offense. if we can continue to connect on those deep passes like the ones we had against cinci, and portis can run the ball well, i could see our offense having a ranking around middle of the pack, say 16th or so.

Thanks for the backing....a guy that can distinguish between being a fan and reality is a welcome sight every once in awhile!

I don't have a lot of time, so I didn't read the whole thread yet, but My thoughts were slightly optomistic. I still like Rock over Nemo, even though I like nemo. I know the one int in the endzone was just a bad decision, but Ramsey did have a few beautiful passes. And he really didn't check down much. I think that was intentional though. I think they were just trying to work on the long ball. Still no offensive playcalling or gameplanning. The ball that Moss lost in the lights was placed perfectly. A couple of drops by recievers, but overall there was an improvement. I hope they can build on it.

Defensively I'm a little worried about our 2nd stringers. Remember we played with alot of second team guys last year. The line was allowing runners to gain serious yardage up the middle.

Carlos Rogers did have a nice pick, but then got picked on. I wonder if Williams didn't see it coming. He got beat by one reciever on a go route, but the reciever missed the ball. I knew it was coming again when they put fresh legs in and barely huddled up. I figure in a game situation they would give him some safety help, but it wasn't there. I wonder if that was just to test him.

I saw the replay last night and saw good and bad, I like what I am seeing from the O-line, they are starting to work together as a team up front, for the most part they did a good job of bottling up the blitz from the inside. Betts is running well, and Broughton is looking good. I don't think we are really looking to establish a running game in the pre-season, we are just looking the line over and taking a look at the back's, the primary concern is the passing game, when the season starts our offense will force teams to come up and stop the run through repetition and then open up the passing game a little more, right now we are not trying to wear down the defenses.

The big concern is Patrick's decision making? Both his INT's were ridiculous, somtimes you can't kill a QB on an INT because it's not alway's his fault, these were his fault period, those 2 throws were so bad it worries me, he did well in the hurray up, it almost seems Ramsey is better, more poised, and more accurate when he's just reacting out there and not thinking so much, I also think he's better when we move him out of the pocket, he just seems to uncomfortable when he's just standing there.

I noticed with Brunell [who looked decent] that he was taking a deeper drop than Ramsey, perhap's the coaches should focus on that a bit with Ramsey, it may provide him with a little extra time, and a better view of the field, which may give him a much needed higher comfort level. Although he made some nice throws, as well as having a few drops, he looks like right now he's aiming the ball, I really believe Gibbs has really broke down this kids confidence, hopefully he finds it before he winde's up on the bench, because if that happens he may be done as a skin.

Gibb's still refuses to put McCant's in with Ramsey, at the very least he should put him in when we hit the red zone, it sounded like that's what Theisman was hinting at during the game and his insistance on the importance of a big reciever down inside the red zone, regardless of the success Ramsey has had with McCant's the last couple of years Gibbs wont do it, I believe Gibbs has to make a decision on McCants, either play the guy and give him an oppotunity with Patrick, or cut him, watching McCant's work with the backup's in the 4th quarter is getting old, it's like he's scared Patrick might make the guy look good.

Yeah, I'm not sure why we aren't seeing much out of McCants. I do think the red zone is where having a big receiver is vital - at that point, it doesn't really matter if they out run the d-backs, but as long as they are big enough to shield them from the ball.

Wow Offiss, it's not often that we agree 100%, but I certainly agree with you with everything you just said!

I think that Ramsey is going to have to get used to McCants not being there. I don't think Gibbs is delibaretly trying to sabotage Ramsey or shake his confidence
