gortiz 08-18-2005, 01:29 PM Well, I have to admit, I was the one of many that lost some faith in PR after last weekend's game. Deservingly so, he will be the focus this Friday night. What is everyone's prediction on how he will fare?
What kind of perfomance will he have agaisnt the Bengals? OR what is one thing he has to do if does nothing else? i.e. - score a TD, connect on a long pass, look more calm in the pocket ... etc.
I say he plays relatively better, leads us down to a score, and has 1 other positive drive (more than 3 first downs, 45-50 yards in length) in about a quarter's time. 10 for 17 no INT'S.
RedskinRat 08-18-2005, 01:30 PM I'm expecting a positive increase in his stats, he'll look more comfortable as will the rest of the offense.
Paintrain 08-18-2005, 01:40 PM Bottom line, he needs to get the team into the endzone. I don't expect Portis to play so it's on him and he needs to show something. My faith in Ramsey becoming an NFL playmaker is waning. He has shown that he can be a caretaker but to get to 10+ wins, your QB has to be a playmaker and I need to see the seeds of that starting tomorrow night.
skins009 08-18-2005, 01:43 PM Doesn't matter he's still the man. And this is just pre-season. Give him time to get back into the groove. Mcnab threw an interception on his first pass too, but nobody is shitting their pants.

That's because after that play he looked almost perfect. Plus he got the Eagles in the endzone.
scowan 08-18-2005, 01:47 PM I don't care about stats, just score points and be a leader and make good decisions. I want to see him manage the game and not turn the ball over. I would love to see him hit a big play, but to me that is more about making good decisions. The big play is not always there, so just be smart with the football. I would also be happy with no "happy feet" out of Ramsey. Act like you are the best player on the field and be confident.
Gmanc711 08-18-2005, 01:47 PM He's playing an OK defense this week, as opposed to a VERY GOOD defense last week, thats one reason I think his numbers will increase. I think the home stadium will give him some extra edge. Realistically, I cant point to reasons last week why he wasent great. He didnt seem to be really far off, just not perfect. I'm intersted to see our offense as a whole. I really hope we run the ball more too when Ramsey is in there, to set up the pass. I think we will run more because it wont be Portis back there, so we dont risk his injury. Gonna be nice to see what Betts can do.

I'm hoping he is just working out kinks and warming up, I would love to see a TD drive that involves alot of passing, also, at least one completion of over 25 yards - don't forget after McNabb's INT he went 14-18.
scowan 08-18-2005, 01:51 PM As a follow up to my post, and it probably belongs in some other thread, I don't live in the Washington area and I am disappointed that the NFL Network is not doing their No Huddle tomorrow night. I guess with only 3 games it is not worth it for them. So I will be watching the game via Gamecenter on NFL.com. A concession I guess is that the game will be replayed on Saturday night at 10pm Central on NFL Network and I don't have to wait until Wednesday next week for the replay.
EternalEnigma21 08-18-2005, 01:51 PM I agree, he needs to score. I do think he'll find his bearings and start making better plays, if not tomorrow, soon. We've all seen the guy make big plays in spurrier's offense, but he was getting killed the whole time he was doing it. Gibbs has had an entire offseason to mold a system to him, and that's what he's done. I think if Ramsey responds well at all, we'll see some great things from him, but I don't think we're exactly going to gameplan the preseason. Lombardyesque playcalling. Predictable, but concentrating on execution.
I will say this. We've had some great preseasons in the past. Hell we've had some great offseasons according to the masses too. This year, everyone is saying we had a bad offseason by downgrading WR's, losing our D captains, Drafting JC... and I'm glad to hear it. At least its a change of pace. I think more concentration is going into making a season work, than an offseason and a preseason great.
BTW, no matter what ramsey does in the next game, if he doesn't score 2+td's, or if he throws 1 pick, he'll be getting picked apart next week too.
