gortiz 08-18-2005, 01:52 PM I don't care about stats, just score points and be a leader and make good decisions. I want to see him manage the game and not turn the ball over. I would love to see him hit a big play, but to me that is more about making good decisions. The big play is not always there, so just be smart with the football. I would also be happy with no "happy feet" out of Ramsey. Act like you are the best player on the field and be confident.
I'm not trying to flood my own post, but this was DEAD ON Scowan .... especially that last sentence. Is it me, or does he seem to lack confidence at times, and command?
offiss 08-18-2005, 01:54 PM If I were Gibbs I would give PR a lot of looks out of the shotgun, he seemed to be a little more comfortable last week when he was in it, it may be a good way to help his confidence out, give him a little more time, and allow him to read the D a little faster. Hopefully it works, although I know Gibbs would rather do without the shotgun.
Redskins8588 08-18-2005, 01:55 PM Tomorrow night Ramsey will connect on just about every pass, the ones that he will not connect on will be because of the WR's not him. I am predicting him to go 12-15, 1td, and about 100 - 120 yards... And you can take it to the bank!!!!
scowan 08-18-2005, 02:03 PM Gotiz, all I am saying is it is Ramsey's 4th year in the league, he is older than a lot of guys he is playing against now and should be showing his maturity a little bit more. At this level everyone is good, but some guys are just more sure of themselves than others. I want him to act like a veteran. Those "happy feet" make me think he is the Rookie and Jason Campbell is the veteran. Be vocal, clap your hands, talk to your guys. They say Jon Jansen does this with the O-line, I want to see Patrick do this with the whole team.

I agree - Hopefully, with all the backing he has this year and with the experience he has gathered playing under gibbs he willl come through and act the part, another thing you have to realize, you don't teach that, or learn that kind of personality from a book, sure you can achieve to improve your attitude, but Ramsey will never be Farve or even Brady when it comes to leadership (at least from what I've seen the last four years) ... I still think he will be good, and I think he will silence some critics tomorrow night, we get 1 TD out of him and another solid drive!

I TIVO'd the game last week and watched the replay a few times since, Ramsey's feet are all over the place in the pocket.. He doesn't bouce like QBs are supposed to do, he dances and when he throws he's not stepping into his throws. I want to see confidence and when something goes wrong I don't want to see him hanging his head or staring blankly at the jumbotron. If someone runs the wrong route, I want to see him jump on them.
STPainmaker 08-18-2005, 02:19 PM Scowan you are absolutely right. Ramsey has not developed into the player we thought he would. He is apprehensive, and not confident. This is a byproduct of having absolutely no faith in his coach and line in the days of spurrier. Gibbs will have to pull the ultimate confidence transformation on PR if he has any chance of materializing into a pro qb. This means providing him protection, play calling that doesn't inherently get him in trouble like last year, and the running game must produce this year consistently. If this doesn't happen PR will be done in DC.
I say he goes 12/14 for 200 yards, 2 TD 0 INT and we spend next week complaing over how he missed 2 throws, didn't look comfortable in the pocket, his jersey was hanging out, his socks weren't pulled up far enough, and his haircut sucks.

While his haircut does suck :biggthump I don't think we are being overly critical. Bottom line is we all want him to succeed but we haven't been given visual evidence that he is 'the guy'. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect execution and for him to be showing signs of taking the next step. My coaches always said you play the way you practice. This is practice so as I said earlier, we need to see the seeds of what's to come in order to be at ease with him at QB.
SmootSmack 08-18-2005, 02:31 PM I'll say 10-15 for 111 yards, 1 TD (to Moss) and 0 Interceptions. I think Brunell has another good game though, and the gap between 1 and 2 gets even closer
