I'm kinda disappointed after reading this review. Sounds like it's still a good game, but with no major enhancements or simple bug fixes, it's a disappointment.

This part is encouraging though,

The Madden diehards will undoubtedly enjoy Madden 06, just as they have most every other installment of the franchise, and anyone that simply wants a new and thoroughly playable football game with updated rosters will get exactly that from Madden 06.

I guess EA is probably putting all their time and resources into next gen.

Maybe I'll be playing more NCAA than I thought this year.

Who knows... I'm still looking forward to picking it up tomorrow.

This is disappointing, since gamespot's reviews, at least from my experience, tend to be both more critical and more reflective of my own feelings. Damn. Still, I'm gonna wait to play it before I rush judgment. Have to move out of my apt first, then next week is officially Madden week.

Got the Madden last night all I can say is that cone is the devil, kinda adds a nice difficulty but Poor Ramsey had 3 picks and no TD's, and they didn't implement the shotgun into the Skins arsenal Overall I'm pretty pleased though. Just gotta spend more time with it and I;m always up for that

i'm gonna give it a more thorough review as i have a little time,
First game it's Skins Vs Vikings against a buddy of mine as he's a big Vikes fan and we both from MN. between the two of us we had 10 picks and not much of a rushing game as the Olines weren't looking very good. Udezi housed Jansen over and over for 6 sacks(may have something to do with me working the vision cone for to long) Campbell had no luck at all not even completing a pass, Brunell had a couple completions nothing special. Most dis appointing Cooley had 3 wide open drops. Some notable peeps missing, oour rookie FB, and Antonio Brown are 2 that stood out. I love the truck stick as I leveled his corners a couple times with portis but if you mess up timing you lose all speed. Haven't gotta into Superstar much started one but I blew the wonderlick and my guy was a 66 overall TE so I didn't save at that point I went to bed as it was 3AM and had to work. Over all it's great to have a new Madden I'll get better at the cone and it's nice not to be able to lob up crap and gain 60 yrds. And you can kinda jump plays on D if you don't use it properly. The truck is a great addition as the hit stick was last year. I'd definately say it's worth it.

Picked my copy up this morning, I've only gotten half way through my first game, I spent alot of time messing around with the roster, making trades, etc.

The new passing cones definitely make passing alot harder. Right now I'm pretty much locking on to my one guy, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it.

I think it's one of this things that takes some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, it's really going to make the game alot of fun and more realistic.

Graphics wise it's pretty much the same, very slight improvements I would say. They have the old school NFL films music in the game, nice touch there.

I think we're seeing more negative reviews of the game because of the new passing system, and for casual fans of the game they're not going to like it. But you can always turn it off.

It's your typical Madden game, if you've always been a big Madden fan, you'll probably like this one just as much as the others.

Oh yeah, like PFunk26 said above, Broughton and White aren't on the team, I was kinda disappointed at that. Antonio Brown isn't either but you can pick him up as a free agent.

The new Gibbs playbook as some H-back stuff which is cool, but it's overly conservative. Alot of double TEs, no shotgun.

gibbs book is like last years game, it is really hard to do much with it but short passes and runs. Also the "protection" from those 8 guys protecting doesn't really do much with a good pass rush in that game. I can't get the darn vision to work but i only played a couple games and beat a Dallas fan so it was worth it. Brunnel has much more vision than ramsey. Now the people who blitz all the time have it much easier, it is hard to adjust the vision then pass the ball, a blitzer now can easily make a sack or force a QB to throw and cause an interception

But i like the new system after we get the hang of it we will be loving it, i just don't like the differense between cones, like ramsey to manning, it used to be the player was the QB and did the mental work even if ramsey wasn't as accurate as manning. Now manning has a HUGE advantage over other QBs where as last year a good player could still get it done with an average QB.

they do have the old school NFL films music in the game, nice touch there.

I was gonna post about that for those who haven't found it. I love that... There's 10 tracks from that Autumn Thunder collection they advertise on NFL Network. Pretty classic football sounds. I gotta get that on cd.
