Ty Law finally got signed....by the jets

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Ty Law (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=3188) agreed to a contract with New York Jets (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=nyj) on Monday, giving New York a Pro Bowl cornerback who helped the New England Patriots (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=nwe) win three Super Bowls.

The deal for the free agent was contingent on a physical, scheduled for the afternoon at the team's training camp.

"And if everything goes well, he'll be a New York Jet," coach Herman Edwards said.

The contract is expected to be for at least three years and could average $6 million per season, sources told ESPN.com. On paper, the contract might well be longer in term, but it is generally agreed that, for practical purposes, both sides anticipate that Law will play three seasons. What will be the most interesting element in the deal is its structure because the Jets must protect themselves against injuries or the possibility that Law is not yet 100 percent.

Good gamble for the Jets, I'm sure Law will be eager to play his old team twice a year.

Jets just might take the AFC East this year - - assuming of course that Law is physically healed and ready to play at 90% or better efficiency. Their defense improved a lot last year and looks to be even better now.

Can they establish a real passing game? That's what seems to be the Achilles heel for the Jets at the moment.

DON'T SAY THAT. you might jinx the team, in case you don't know lemar marshall only has a year left on his current contract, if you catch my drift.

i don't love it when it happens to us, i enjoy looking in on them and i was mearly pointing out the feelings they must be having by comparing them to something we could relate to.

I like the division stuff, i will now want to watch Jets vs Pats twice a year.
