Hamdan's European Debut

Just thought you all might want to know Hamdan was 6-10 for 73 yards in his debut with the Amsterdam Admirals today. Meanwhile, former Redskin Skip Hicks had a 56 yard TD run for the Frankfurt Galaxy

I like Hamdan, even though I do think he was a bad choice for our final draft pick. He seems like a nice guy and willing to learn. Who knows, this guy may be a QB that rises to stardom under Gibbs as other QBs have done. Hicks is an NFL player IMO, so its no suprise to me that he'll do well over there.

Skip Hicks -- one of our 2nd round busts. Same with Stephen Alexander.

Is Ladell Betts the next in line? Taylor Jacobs?

I hope not.

I dont know if id consider Stepehn Alexander a bust. He was a great TE for us and was only cut when Marty came in and cut anyone who ever was injured in their career. He was quickly picked up and got a big contract. Granted he hasnt done so well since then, but he performed for us.

Gilbran is a big reason I'm happy that the practice squad was bumped up to 8 players. I'd love to see what Joe could do with him.

Sultan McCullah looked great last year and was an outstanding college running back prior to an injury. Had we not picked up Porits I was hoping he would get the nod, he seemed to perform well in his few carries last year. Perhaps he'll make a goodback up next year

Stephen Alexander wasn't cut.... he was eligible for free agency and hooked up with Marty in San Diego.

It is a sad indication of our drafting when you look at Skip Hicks' list of teams since leaving DC....

That's a lot of bouncing around for a second round running back in a (relatively) short space of time.

I'm pretty sure that Hicks was a 3rd round pick in '98, one round after Alexander and one round before Shawn Barber

I think Snyder thinks in Madden terms, that late round picks wont ever pan out beucase they start out beign ranked so low because we give up on our late round picks so easily. Stephen Davis was what, a sixth round pick? I think Snyder is so worried about post June 1 cuts that he figures why even have to show up for the second day of the draft when i can get proven medicore players with those picks
