Cowboys Guard Larry Allen was placed on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list after failing a conditioning test and has not participated in the team's training camp. There is no word on when, or whether, Allen will be able to participate in team activities. For more information, see http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2120522.

Allen's absence is very troubling for the Cowboys. Allen, a perinneal Pro-Bowler, is one of the team's best players. Moreover, the Cowboys already have some major holes on their offensive line. Only Marco Rivera, who is aging and recovering from back surgery, and Flozell Adams are very solid starters. With Allen's absence, the Cowboys have glaring holes at center, left guard, and right tackle. Given Cowboys quarterback Drew Bledsoe's inability to avoid a pass-rush, any troubles on the Cowboys line is likely to spell major trouble for the offensive unit as a whole.

More to follow as new developments are made public.

Good, I hope it happens more to the team. Just as long as we stay healthy. We have Plexie-glass Burress in NY witha knee injury, T.O. infecting the Eagles camp, and now this... Things are looking up for us...

you know, i wish they would release larry allen. not to mention, i wish there whole offensive line crumbles, and one of their key starters goes down for the year like jansen last season.

No, you are right but it would at least let other teams know what our offense had to go through last year when Jansen went down...

Our team had a whole divisions worth of injuries last year. Maybe this year the injuries will just get spread out around the division.

I've thought the Cowboys were one of the most overhyped teams this offseason anyways. The OL is old, their QB is slow, holds the ball too long and hasn't looked good (with better receivers) in years and outside of Williams, Nguyen and Glover nobody on their defense is a proven playmaker.. I think they have just as many questions as we do, but because of the Parcells factor they are a 10 win team all of the sudden? How does that happen?

I also heard on one of the local AM stations here in Richmond. They were broadcasting ESPN's the huddle and they mentioned that one of their draft picks can't remeber his first name, but the linebacker Burnett is on Parcells and teams shit list. He went and got surgery done without consent or knowledge of the team. Do not know the extent of it how major or minor. Thought I would have read something on this but it may not be that significant yet. They were also talking about Parcells dealing with the EGOs of Glover and Ellis and their playing time.

Well, it won't matter who they plug in at those glaring holes on September 19th and December 18 -- those are the days they're playing the Redskins. You can bet whatever 3rd string scrubs suit up and play the Burgundy and Gold will miraculously transform into Super Bowl MVPs for just those two games. They will rise to the occasion like no other time in their careers.

It's too bad Washington players don't do the same.

well the bad news cloud is hovering over dallas' camp right now. and the reason i wante their whole line to get injured is because
1. i don't like dallas
2. if their whole line got injured it'd be bad news for drew "the statue" bledsoe
3. it increases the chance of bledsoe getting sacked, or possibly ending his career.
4. im just that hardcore of a redskins fan.
