And I really wanted him to be good too because it seemed like for every ten dropped balls, he'd make one spectacular catch that would restore my faith.
How should we remember Gardner's time as a Redskin?TheMalcolmConnection 07-28-2005, 01:50 PM And I really wanted him to be good too because it seemed like for every ten dropped balls, he'd make one spectacular catch that would restore my faith. dblanch66 07-28-2005, 02:17 PM F**K it, Dude. EternalEnigma21 07-28-2005, 04:58 PM This isn't Nam Dude... we have rules. I didnt know there was an abundance of bowlers in 'Nam CrazyCanuck 07-28-2005, 07:39 PM I'll remember - Week 3 against Dallas. The guy got me like 40 fantasy points (mostly in the 4th quarter) and capped off my miracle comeback victory with a long catch on the last play of the game. Then Roy Williams almost took his head off. I'll forget - Week 2 against the Giants. In hindsight, that drop in the end zone probably cost us a playoff season. I'm one of the bigger Gardner fans on this site and I'm a bit sad to see him go. I think the Panthers got a good deal here. They get a veteran receiver with good physical skills who already understands how an NFL offense works. Not to mention he'll be playing for a new contract. They're getting all this for a 6th rd pick and $2M. What are we getting for our $1M+ deadcap charge? Besides, is it that hard to catch the ball????? But of course I defer to Coach Gibbs, and I guess it was time for RG to move on. Thanks for all the good/bad times and best of luck in Carolina Rod! TigersPawSkins 07-30-2005, 07:27 AM Its about time that he is gone!!!! What good is a w/r that you cant trust to catch the ball when needed? I mean you are in a game. You get 3 downs to make 10 yards to keep moving. You cant afford throwing the ball to someone who may or may not catch it. I understand incomplete passes are part of the game. But a w/r that consistantly disappoints you and drops even simple easy wide open in stride in your chest kind of pass then its most definitely time to let him go. Hopefully he will do alot better elsewhere. I have a close friend (like brother) who lives in south carolina and went to Clemson. He follows college ball very closely. He thinks very highly of RG. That we are lucky to have him on our team. I just plainly dont see it. monk81 07-31-2005, 06:08 PM i voted for drop it like it's hot. although i was close to voting for he threw crazy mad parties, yo. That was a hard decision for me too......parties, or the drops...........chose the drops............but perhaps the parties caused the drops ;) Good bye Gardner................ |
