Why are people whining about not getting what THEY think Gardner is/was worth when nobody offered it in the first place? If Gardner was worth a fourth rounder, heck if he was worth a 1st rounder, don't you think a team would have made the trade for him alot sooner?

Exactly. Thats what I'm trying to say. He's not even worth a 4th rounder.....so it doesn't matter that he got drafted in the 1st round. Like I said on my previous post -- HE NEVER LIVED UP TO HIS POTENTIAL

He's a talented guy that will probably frustrate the hell out of Panther fans all year.

But he's going to throw some killer parties! Crank up the drunk bus Carolina here comes 50/50!

Damn, the Panther fans are obviously living in a larger fantasy world than most of us. Check it out.

Here's a quote from that site:

"oh yeah Nance, isn't Rod in the last year of his deal? I so, I would love to lock him up for like maybe 2.5 - 3 mil a year for about 4 years. I'm sure he'll wait till the end of the year though, unless he feels grateful for us taking him, oh well... I'M JUST HYPED ABOUT HIM COMING HERE."

Believe me, Rod would love to sign for $3 million a year. That'll be $60,000 a catch, if you're lucky. Or, about $75,000 a drop.

Someone else said that Carolina has the best WR corp now with the addition of Gardner. :Smoker:

Guys, every fan sees things through his/her teams colored glasses. For Carolina, it is a very good pickup. A veteran starter that could be a good #2 or #3 WR. Basically a replacement for Muhammad. And on our end, we got something for a guy that's been a dissappointment and would've been released anyway. Not bad from either point of view. But Superbowl??? Uhhh....ok....BUT honestly in today's NFL, who knows! They are a only year removed from being in the big game. (I wouldn't bet on it though)

As for the arguement that he was a 1st round pick, that is irrelevant. Pierce was a no-name player that performed well and got rewarded with a good deal. Priest Holmes wasn't even drafted. Should guys like these not make more money just because they weren't drafted high? No, they have proven themselves on the field. It works both ways. I wouldn't exactly call him a bust, but Gardner has definitely underachieved, so he is not worth as much as his potential was when he was drafted.

I'm going to agree with the first part of your statement. I mean Dyson comes in for us and we all expect him to contribute, but how much do we REALLY think he will? I mean at least we aren't saying he is the missing piece to our Super Bowl team.

I know I've deluded myself in relation to some of our past pick ups, but DAMNNN!!! those r some poor misguided people and this from a guy who thinks he'll do pretty well for the panthers but him being the final peice to get them to the superbowl and giving them them best wr corps in the league, DAMNNN!!!
