That's what I thought in the beginning...I thought the same thing when he said that a rookie would be leading the team.I guess he forgot about Ramsey and saw that we drafted Campbell. That would not be a comment of some one who was observing this sight. They would know Ramsey is our starter. SmootSmack 07-22-2005, 09:57 AM I'm kind of bummed. I thought this was a misspelled thread about my all-time favorite Hog...Russ Grimm Me too, I read all four pages hoping that we were going to compare the Hogs to this year's bunch (in a positive light). Maybe we can shift course and do as such rather than going "point-counterpoint" to someone who may or may not be a fan of another team. (I'll admit sometimes I post negative things on the Philadelphia Inquirer's fan board just to ire up the Eagles' fans). Does anyone know the progression of Wilson and Molinaro? What, if anything, has Bugel said about them?...etc... TheMalcolmConnection 07-22-2005, 11:27 AM I heard a few good things in early offseason interviews. And just as everyone else brought up, if we needed depth at the line, we would have drafted or signed some. firstdown 07-22-2005, 02:29 PM Me too, I read all four pages hoping that we were going to compare the Hogs to this year's bunch (in a positive light). I want what your smoking!LOL VishsSkins 07-22-2005, 07:17 PM Theres no reason why we cant be awesome next year. Basically, it all hinges on ramsey. He has everything around him he needs (great RB, amazing O-line, depth at WR, and one hell of a defense) so if things still dont go well, i think its time for him to go. Longtimefan 07-22-2005, 07:37 PM Thanks for all the true fans who really understand the game of football and are constantly optomistic about the success of the team, and are not disturbed about the negative things said by some who do not want to see us be successful. It is difficult for me to understand how anyone who watched the team play last year cannot be optomistic about the team's chances this season. Our record of 6-10 was not, IMO indicative of how this team can really perform. Had we taken advantage of a few more scoring opportunities last year, and scored a touchdown or two more, we could have easily been 10-6. We were not very far off in most of the games played, and what's really exciting is the fact we played our best football against the best teams, Philly-Pittsburg towards the end of the season. With just a little more offence we will go 10-6 maybe 11-5. I feel we've added enough on offence to make up that difference we were lacking last year, and bar a rash of serious injury we will be much improved on that side of the ball. 12thMan 07-23-2005, 12:52 AM I bet it was some Philly fan that started this thread.....they deserve T.O!!! 81forHOF 07-23-2005, 01:19 PM You guys crack me up! Every offseason we have alot to get excited about. Every offseason I start talking smack to my friends and co-workers who are fans of Philly, Cowboys, Steelers or whoever. I say that this year is going to be different and ramble off a bunch of reasons and stats like everyone has done in response to this post. Then the season starts and every year we still suck! Save from one decent season, we have sucked for well over a decade!! History dictates that Everest3k is much more likely to be close to the mark than any of you guys. I mean how many more times am I going to pump myself up for a huge let down? How many more times am I going to open my mouth only to put my foot in it? How many more times will I enthusiastically throw my heart into the Washington Redskins only to have it stepped on? (okay that last one was a little much). There comes a point that even a diehard fan (and I am diehard) has to say enough is enough....... ..........but, this year may be different. This year we have a wild card. This year we have an ace up our sleeves and his name is Gibbs. When he was hired last year, Gibbs himself said that to turn this thing around was going to take a little time and that it wasn't going to be easy, but that it would get done. None of us have any reason to doubt this man's word. That is why I'm getting sucked into the hype again! As for the media, they are a pack of imbeciles. They all just jump on whatever nonsense is being passed around and reiterate it to death. They would have us believe that a showboat, me first CB who won't support the run and repeatedly jumps to whatever team that will pay him the most, is a more important addition to a football team than a man like Darrel Green. They would have us believe that a man who at one time held every major receiving record in football does not belong in the Hall of Fame. They would have us believe that one of the only men to coach teams to 3 Super Bowl victories is washed up just because he didn't experience immediate success his first year back. Want to do a fun little experiment? Last year when Gibbs said he was coming back the media couldn't get enough of it. After he won his FIRST game against the Cardinals they were calling him a genius!!! After things started going not so well they all jumped on the same bandwagon and said he lost his touch. Said that the NFL past him by and he just won't be able to adjust. (Let me be the first to say that in a couple of years the rest of the NFL will be adjusting to Gibbs!). The experiment part is how many games do the Skins have to win early this season before the same pack of idiots are all calling him a genius again? Five?... Three?.... my guess is One! So don't be so hard on Everest3k - he has every reason to feel the way he does. But as for me...........here I go again! |
