Is it just me or will a win by the Native Americans result in a big step towards being TOO sensitive?
I know we've covered this one before, but I've been thinking about it and I remember the previous "for" argument saying that if ANY group is offended, then the name should change.
I think that argument is kind of like the "What is art?" question. Art is many things to many people. If someone states, "Everything is art." then they are also saying that is the possibility that "Nothing is art."
If they were to win the case based on the reason that "some" people got offended, what's to keep EVERY OTHER PERSON OR GROUP to make the same claim. That type of decision would be far-reaching throughout society and NOT just the sports world. There has to be some standard that allows for this type of change, not just a "select" group that, more than likely, has lobbied to have even more followers.
