Sean Springs Visit Local High School

Sean Springs went to high school at Good Counsel in Wheaton, MD (before graduating from Springbrook HS) to visit a football camp that my younger brother attends. Apparently, Springs decided to field some questions from some of the players and here's the gist of what he said:

-He played running back in high school
-The difference between great athletes and great football players is character; guys with great character are the building blocks of any football team.
-He is apparently great friends with Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens
-Chad Johnson is the best wideout in the league.
-He thinks the Redskins will do really well this year because the schedule is easier, the team has more chemistry, and Gibbs has learned a lot in the past year.
-Gibbs is one of the nicest and most genuine guys he's ever met and the players truly love the guy.
-He might play punt or kick returner this year.

from watching him run wild with his ints last year its not a big surprise he played RB... I think he's probably a bit old and too useful at CB to risk on returns, but just from that GB game i have no doubt he COULD do it if needed...

punt or kick return, wow he just might run over every person till the endzone. I would love to see him on Special Teams on coverage but i wouldn't want him to get hurt to bad........ or hurt anyone else to bad

No way should they have him back there for returns. He is way too valuable to chance. I also think it is interesting he said pepto was the best wideout. I think he is top 5, but Springs would know best. That has to boost Johnson's ego. Also, I think it is interesting he said the schedule is easier. I thought it was much harder than our schedule last year. I really wasn't worried about the teams we played in the AFC as much as I worry about the teams we play this year in the AFC. I'm glad he feels that way, because, again, he would know more than I would. (I'm one of the few on here that isn't a talent scout, coach, or GM. j/k)

What I really like is the attitude we hear from all the players lately (Taylor and Arrington excepted). When players see Gibbs busting his ass all the time to get the team better, it has a positive affect. Also, getting rid of players who don't want to be here has a postive affect as well. I know the Coles thing wasn't how anyone would have wanted it, but once Gibbs gave his word, that was that. He said if you don't want to be here, I'll move you--and he did it to one of their highest paid players. That says a lot to the folks that are here. (I'm not saying the Coles thing was great, but I think there is a positive side to it, IMO.)

ahhh i thought it was Sean Taylor, I don't know why but i did. So the thing i posted up top must have made less sense, even though Springs can lay a person down too. By the way i think Springs spells his name shawn.

I heard he was friends with the eagle bunch during our second game against them eagles. When he was hurt, i think T.O went to go talk to him. Ever since then T.O hasn't been to bad to the skins. I hope he holds out FOREVER. The eagles stole T.O anyway from baltimore and they got a cheep price on him

Can I just say I love Shawn Springs (even if he is a Buckeye). A true professional and an all-around nice guy.
It also helps that he's got a positive outlook on the season. We need some of that around here every now and then.
