I agree. Also, a lot of people were high on Clemens (like Marshall, another former "no name" player) as a 3rd down pass rusher, but who knows if he would have even gotten in the game had LA been healthy and able to fill that role as was expected before the injury.

The real credit has to go to Williams for knowing exactly how to make these adjustments.

Now Clemons is a LB I like a lot, I really hope we continue to expand his role.

I can see LaVar getting lots of sacks, I just hope he comes in and doesn't try to take the spotlight to himself on defense. He can make huge plays, but the scheme is greater than the player. Physically Lavar is gifted, but how many problems has he caused defensive coordinators. Wanting to freelance, whining and crying about the 3 point stance, etc, etc. That's what worries me about him.

Is he an amazing athletic talent? yes. Does he have a ways to go to be a complete/team player? I think so. He needs to just listen to his coordinator instead of talking all the time.

I think Lavar has a really good chances in this defense to show his fans how great he can be, however, what I do like most about this defense is how it does not rely on one or two stars to carry the burden. I think once Gibbs gets the offense going (which sounds very favorable this season,) we'll see the same with the O.

For me, I always have felt giving a player a huge contract is the kiss of death!
