hail2commanders 11-08-2024, 01:34 PM Where has Trump been anyway?? The radio silence is straight up strange.
He did give a phone interview to NBC yesterday, and apparently has blasted Newsom on social media.
Other than that, I'm sure he's been busy with phone calls.
hail2commanders 11-08-2024, 01:40 PM We will see how it ends, hopefully good. But I think what’s been a lil surprising is the decompression and it’s been almost like a relaxed reaction to the election results of a Trump win.
Agree. It'll be interesting to see how he tackles immigration. I think he'll probably approach it similar to Obama in focusing on removing criminals.
Inflation to me was mainly a byproduct of trillions of dollars of covid spending. I think we would've had fairly significant inflation anyway if Trump had been reelected in 2020, but Biden added to it and threw gas on a fire.
WRT to housing prices.....in certain locations like Utah, Idaho, and Texas, they were already starting to go bat insane by late 2020 due to all the stimmy and pretty much zero interest rates.

Plaining to have camps and throw out all the immigrants in the US is hard work.

I don't blame people for fearing the worst about Trump, particularly after the J6 nonsense, but I'm hopeful that the immigration thing is measured, and things that he did in his first term like "Remain in Mexico" can be negotiated again.
A big part of winning elections is messaging and it seems like Biden had none. You can't have issues like inflation and immigration and then have the bare minimum in news conferences, probably because, as we now know, his team's lack of confidence in his mental state.
Not to say that I don't have questions about Trump's mental state either. Hoped that DeSantis or Haley would've been the pick, but that's under the bridge now.
nonniey 11-08-2024, 02:10 PM ............ what policies do minorities despise?
Don't forget the actions (perceived as being supported by Dems). There are so many but here is one "LatinX."

First off welcome to the boards.
In regards to bolded I think that would be common sense approach and in addition as you said later a remain in Mexico. Harris said they were going to increase deportation if caught illegally entering this should be a no brainer as well.
Giantone 11-08-2024, 03:09 PM trump supporters are at it......................

“The unfortunate reality of electing a President who, historically, has embraced, and at times encouraged hate, is unfolding before our eyes,” said NAACP President Derrick Johnson.
Civil rights leaders are raising alarm over pro-Donald Trump racist text messages targeting Black Americans less than 48 hours after the 2024 presidential election.
"“Greetings, You have been selected to pick cotton at the nearest plantation. Be ready at 12PM SHARP with your belongings,” reads one text message received by a resident in Washington, D.C., reports local TV station News4. “Our Executive Slaves will come get you in a Black Van, be prepared to be searched down once you’ve enter [sic] the plantation. You are in Plantation Group S.”

Is that an issue there? Here it is more a generational thing. Students will use latinx at a higher rate but coworkers that are older like gen x and millennials don't understand it.
hail2commanders 11-08-2024, 03:41 PM Couple of friends of mine thought the racist texts might be from foreign entities trying to sow discord post-election.
Chico23231 11-08-2024, 04:49 PM Chico I would suggest you switch news sources then. This is what we get once we have eroded civil liberties and made our country about corporate rights and not people. Oil companies price gouged us to record profits during high inflation. Driving up costs across the board. FTC did what they can but we are so limited to how we can handle corporations due to deregulation it is pathetic. Mortgage rates aren't high. They were reduced to record lows and then once inflation started going down they went up. They will continue to go up for the foreseeable future.
I like how you are blaming immigrants on rental prices and not rental companies and landlords price gouging people with no voice. Perhaps we should stop criminalizing people trying to live?
Look to Canada right now. Turdow has completely fucked up their economy
