I think he's going to be day to day and it will be a pain tolerance thing for him.
this and even if he is out they will say this until they official have to say it ; might as well make the bears nervous

If its just bruised, a cortisone injection can decrease the inflammation and mask the pain. People play through bruised ribs all the time. As long as playing isn't going to worsen the injury he will try to play.
Yep. A cortisone injection will do if it's only bruised ribs. Let's pray it's ONLY bruised ribs and nothing more.

I dont doubt that he is tough enough to play with bruised ribs, I am just thinking that we are going to be extremely cautious with the kid. Overly cautious. Especially considering how Mariota played.

I’ve heard Sheehan say some pretty dumb things but I had to rewind this one…The chances of a QB getting hurt in the pocket are equal to him getting hurt running the ball
False and not close.
The rules protecting the QB in the pocket have actually become ridiculous to most fans. It’s been a long road where even the slightest contact in the pocket will draw the flag. This has impacted the defense tremendously. The QB is protected in the pocket.
The league has stated, once the QB tucks it and advances..then he become a runner and he loses those protections
KK can control design runs calls. The big issue with JD coming out was his frame and stupid decisions taking big hits in college.
JD is phenomenal runner and it’s a weapon we should be using…but we need to mitigate the risk folks. It’s smart football

Kingsbury should not call for the QB to run until he sees if it needed or not. Our RB were moving the ball just fine and he should have let them carry the load.

Our RB were moving the ball just fine and he should have let them carry the load. The first run from scrimmage was beautifully executed. The open space JD had was amazing to see, and calling it on the first play will help every opening drive run going forward. JD just has to understand that NFL defenders are fast as hell and lean toward the sideline where his protection on long runs are. As long as this isn't a crazy injury, he will learn from it and be better for it.

The threat of the QB running definitely opens things up for the backs, it would be nice to see Kingsbury just dial it back a bit. Jayden is an elite runner as a QB, you don't want to take that completely away.
What happened to SFRedskin? Is he still upset about Howell? 😂
He hasn't posted anything at all since March. Hope he's alright.

Could be "just" bruised rips, could be a muscle pull/tear in the ribcage area, or broken ribs. Not out of the woods yet. But not much you can do about it.
A very early lesson learned for J.D. about NFL speed in the regular season. Not just going to run away from DB's, gotta be like a boxer, and protect yourselves at all times. Would be a bummer if he has to miss this particular match-up, but they will have many more opportunities to play each other, so not the end of the world if we need to rest-him-up.
Pretty sure they've ruled out broken ribs at this point, they did do x-rays at the stadium right?
In the end it's football, a rough game, injuries are going to happen. JD didn't do anything wrong.
