Wondering if Ridgeway is in trouble, as he was at Dallas, yet we spend our most precious pick, other than QB, on a DT. Dan Quinn knows Ridgeway very well I would think. Also, LT roster cuts? Like who would do that? Maybe pick someone off a practice squad. And whoever said we improved at every position is ignoring many spots, LT, DE, outside CB, backup QB, strong safety, c'mon, we have not improved these all.
We improved at DE thru FA. Hopefully we find a S in 5-7. Peters has a habit of getting great value on late secondary picks. Backup QB? I mean Mariota is an ok backup. Corners will hopefully be helped with scheme and coaching… i have my doubts about BSJ. LT seems to be a major issue but who knows. It certainly is a better roster than last year. Isn’t as doom and gloom as you seem to think. Not as rosy as others think. We are not competing for a championship in 2024 most likely. However Rome wasn’t built in one draft.
My main concern is protecting JD through year one. Anyone who says they aren’t concerned about that is fibbing. Lol

Only pick I don’t get is newton. Reminds me of the Mathis pick a few years ago drafting a surplus of interior when we are deficient elsewhere.
As far as ignoring needs yes, as far as comparing him to Mathis coming out no.
Newton is an absolute beast and will be a great and dominant player here. It is crazy he was there at 36. Had to do it.

I was just referring to he is a luxury not a direct comparison of the talent.
On aside I did enjoy the analysis of Coleman and his ability to position flex. A part of me had to laugh at that after years of Ron

Love the pick…that dude can fucking play
Great pick
Me too!! Best slot corner in the draft by far (maybe the best corner period, it just his size holding him back)!!! He is the smartest DB in the class, has a incredible motor and a ton of heart and will be our starting slot corner for the next 10 years. GREAT PICK!!!

This and Sainristil are getting rave reviews everywhere, I haven't seen anybody saying an ill word about either yet. People were calling Sainristil the best player on the best defense in college football last year.
Not gonna lie it feels good to have a GM that can pick these guys in the 2nd/3rd. I'm excited already.
If Sainristil was 3+ inches taller he might have been a top 5 pick . . . top 10 minimum!!

So 5th round anyone have any targets/hopes? WHo is dropping? (Ok I'm being lazy years ago I'd know exactly who I'd want but last 4 years my interest level has dropped substantially.
Edit- After a quick survey how about Austin Booker DE (3rd round prospect falling or Jermiah Trotter ILB (4th round prospect)?
Don't know much bout this pick. Looks quick, decent in coverage and seemingly can tackle.

Nobody is saying it isn’t better than it was (seemingly). What we are saying is it could be even better (seemingly). There is a difference. Lol.
Not hating on any of the picks per say - they will all hopefully and eventually contribute, but man Cooper was there for the taking. Also I feel like he took McCaffrey because of his relationship with his brother and there were some other wr’s there , more than a few, who were rated higher.
Newton is an absolute beast. Almost had to take him at 36. Daniels was obviously the pick at 2. Sansriti is a ball hawk but small and not Dejean. Sinnott is a good blocker and an instant upgrade.
Definitely not hating. I would have stuck with Cooper and would have taken another wr. That is all.
if what you are saying is true and you maybe correct it is disturbing that the new regime is not competent and failed to pick cooper and guys on forums no more than they do .. if so welcome to another dismal future with this team .... i however believe they know exactly what they are doing and it will show on the field .. but everyone is entitled to their opinions. this is not a jab at you punch more than me questioning there abilities and the whiff on that pick ..

Just want to point out guys on forums sometimes are in fact superior to actual front offices (and in the cases of Rivera and Cerretto far superior). It is not usually the case but time will tell in this instance. Oh and I really don't have any major issues with the actual picks just one nitpick with the lack of aggressiveness with the opportunity to move up into the 1st.
