mooby 03-20-2024, 08:10 AM Really the only concern about Daniels is his weight. If his pocket presence is as good as his accuracy it's not a big deal. He will take hits, as long as he can avoid most of them we're good.
I'm leaning more towards Daniels than Maye - Maye looks good physically but everybody says Daniels is the better player. Take the guy who can play football.
Pretty crazy how tight lipped this front office is, we really have no idea which way they are leaning. Seems that more experts have us taking Maye, so because of that I'll say it will be Daniels. Either way I like the potential of both guys at #2 and won't hate it either way.
Really think the weight thing with Daniels is overblown. He definitely needs to add some bulk to his frame, shouldn't be hard for him to add 10-15 lbs of good weight in the next few years.

I love Daniels. I think he'll be very good in the NFL. I just worry about the hits he'll take.
Also, Staubach, Carmichael, Cunningham, etc were playing against 210# linebackers and 250# defensive lineman. Not really comparable.

My guess is he's already well on his way to doing that. Pro Day may surprise some folks...but I too think the weight thing is overblown.
Anyway, are NFL players that much bigger than SEC football players? I mean I know they are the elite of the elite, but it's not like he'll have LSU or AZ State players protecting him either.

You sure about that?

RG3 was one of the worst open field runners to ever play in the NFL, no feel or vision. Just a straight line track guy who had no idea how to protect himself. Couldn't slide, wouldn't run out of bounds, not sure if it was ego or just stupidity.
I don't see Daniels in the same way.

Big facts. RG3 scared me off mobile quarterbacks lmao. I don't want to see any 200 lb qb refusing to slide just to prove a point.

not really a fact statement
The impression that players at every position are much bigger and stronger than previous generations is not always true. Sometimes the ideal body type for today’s game is actually smaller.

take that with all the new rules since cunninghams days to protect the QB and i think its very comparable

Yes, I'm sure. He will have NFL players protecting him if he is on an NFL team.
