I like the Marriota signing.
It's safe to say that Williams or Daniels will be our starter this season.
If anything happens, Marriota can step in and run the same offense.

i believe the MM was signed to give them flexibility with Sam .. if they can trade him for 4th rounder then he maybe gone .. signing MM fills that hole .. i would not get rid of howell for anything less than 4 rounder .. with the way QB injuries take place he could be worth something at some point ..

Sam Howell fans are on the struggle bus today.
Mac Jones was traded for a 6th.
Maybe if we expand the draft to 12 rounds like the old days we can get a pick for Howell.
June 1st cut!
I was never really a SH fan and at one point it was just you and I not loving him, but SFREDSKIN straight up owes us an apology, he was legit mean about the subject kind of loss respect for him and i get along with the majority here

The 2nd overall pick isn’t riding the pine
He's not, but I really wished he would. Mahomes rode the pine his entire first year and it did him the world of good.
Same with Rodgers, Rivers, Love, etc....

Mariota is awful, but would be a good babysitter. You would like it if we signed a 52 year old Gus Frerotte as long as it meant Sam was out the door. Lol.

Marriota was signed to a one-year 6 million dollar deal he's not anything more than a camp body that knows Brian Johnson's system. Howell is young and still on a rookie deal it''d be ridiculous to trade him for anything less than a third, simply because one good day as a backup will increase his value next year. Keeping three quarterbacks on the roster, two on rookie deals and one at six million Is good cap management given how injuries can go with QBs.

I don't think you give Mariota $6 million to be a "camp body". That has to be up there with the highest paid backup quarterbacks...

But there are many examples the other way. Burrow, Herbert and Stroud played right away and played well. 3 QB from the 2012 draft did as well, we can go all the way back to Big Ben and even Marino to find other examples.
With the way the league is now teams don't get a full 5 years before they have to sign their franchise QB to a monster deal. Teams do not want to waste 2 of those seasons they will have under a rookie contract anymore, they want their rookie QB on the field as soon as possible.

Let’s be honest Mahomes could have started right away and been fine.
The days of having a rookie sit are long gone.
Those guys sat because of who was in front of them not because they weren’t ready.
