It's time for Super Bowl LVIIIsdskinsfan2001 02-12-2024, 10:33 AM https://i.ibb.co/j6vW4kK/download.jpg sdskinsfan2001 02-12-2024, 10:38 AM 9ers special teams essentially cost them 8 points. Not going to win too many super bowls when you start the game down 8 points. 1st the 49ers could never lose a super bowl, winning 5 straight, now they can't win one. 3 losses in a row. Giantone 02-12-2024, 10:48 AM Refs missed a big one on 49's first TD , the Center is 5yards down field on the throw. Illegal receiver down field. #64 LP9WSzp9_2s skinsfan69 02-12-2024, 10:56 AM Refs missed calls on both sides. 49ers really have no one to blame but themselves. As Sdskin said, their special teams basically sunk them. You can't give Mahomes 8 points. You can't give Mahomes 8 points. One key moment in the game was right after the 49ers picked off Mahomes on the Chiefs' side of the field. For some reason, they called 3 straight pass plays and got pushed out of FG range, and ended up having to punt the ball. A FG would have put them up 13-3. skinsfan69 02-12-2024, 11:56 AM One key moment in the game was right after the 49ers picked off Mahomes on the Chiefs' side of the field. Probably could have ran it right there no doubt. Perhaps he saw something on film. But I don't think that cost them the game. It was teams- and also not sure why Kyle decided to take the ball first in OT. rocnrik 02-12-2024, 12:27 PM Yea to beat Mahomes you cannot leave points on field ( missed extra point did not help .. I knew that would factor in) KC will expose you mistakes .. I really don't like either team so no biggie but it was great game ! It was teams- and also not sure why Kyle decided to take the ball first in OT. I'd have run on 2nd down at least try to set up 3rd and short if nothing else. Chiefs were all but shutting them down on 3rd and long all day. Kyle said it was analytics; because it was the SB, if they were tied after a possession each, they get the chance to score sudden death win on 3rd possession of OT. Right in theory, but a) you have to stop the Chiefs getting a TD and b) you have to be able to get in scoring range, which they had struggled with. You can't give Mahomes 8 points. This is it in a nutshell. Refs were pretty even with the calls (bad/good) so I have no issues with how the game was called. The 49ers are a better team, they just didn't play like the better team last night. Special Teams cost them dearly. punch it in 02-12-2024, 03:15 PM Are we (us, the media, etc) really going to perpetuate the Kyle chokes leads away stuff? He had a one touchdown lead against Mahomes at halftime. This is not exactly 28-3. SF played a great game. The Chiefs are a dynasty. They have arguably the greatest quarterback I have ever seen play. Also losing Greenlaw, especially in that fashion, was absolutely devastating. Chiefs offense started clicking when he went out. SF will be in the mix again next year. That was an awesome game. |
