It’s just a hot take. How anyone could say that when they don’t even know what type of offense we are running is beyond silly

Hot take? More like a shit take? Nobody in their right mind would even suggest that without being high as a kite.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the Bears kept him and traded down out of the No. 1 spot for another team that needs a QB (just not us).

I'll be willing to wager good money that if the Bears stay put at the #1, they are going to draft a QB.

One of the espn guys just said Washington should give up the number 2/3 overall pick to the bears for Justin Fields .. said it was a no brainer.. I'm I missing something??

I think doing that would count as the definition of having "no brain" so in a sense he is absolutely correct. After all it is a prerequisite for a TV analyst job.

Not even Vegas would take that bet. I can't see how they would stay put, they could trade it for a haul and still get a top 7 pick and take an elite WR/TE/OT/Edge. But Fields wasn't drafted by their FO so we don't know how they feel about him. The Bears could keep that gravy train going for years, whoever trades up to the first pick is likely going to be bad for the next couple of years so will be giving them top five picks in 25 and 26.

I'd agree with that. If they stay it's a QB, if they roll with Fields, it's a trade-down. Someone will want their QB at No. 1.

Interesting stats when a QB is on the move:

Daniels is going to run with it.
Williams is going to chuck it for big yards.
Penix is going to throw it at gophers.

Penix is going to need an elite line in front of him to be successful.

Yes, Daniels is a 1 read and tuck it QB.
Uber athletic, quirky throwing motion, cannot read a defense or make progression through the route tree to save his life.

Every Twitter draft expert is going to be coming up with something to nit pick all of these guys. Or come up with something to make their guy look good.

Here is the thing. So much of a QB having success is where he goes and what coach he gets with. I remember Lamar being picked by Baltimore and everyone including myself never thought he'd become the player he has become. Just cause someone may not be good at reading coverages doesn't mean it stays that way. Or just cause someone isn't great off schedule doesn't mean it stays that way. Or just cause someone has injury issues doesn't mean it stays that way.

Number one... can a QB play from the pocket is what's MOST important. That's number ONE. The other stuff is second and third. You will never win w/ a QB that can't read, anticipate and beat a defense on 3rd down. That will never ever change.
