We have almost 100 million in cap space and 2 additional picks in the 1st 3 rounds. I think that makes it even easier to take a chance on a QB at No. 3. Because you can still get OL in FA and 2nd/3rd rounds that could be instant starters.

36. Jordan Morgan - OT - Arizona
41. Tyler Nubin - S - Minnesota
67. Zach Frazier - OC - West Virginia
96. Darius Robinson - EDGE - Missouri

Chief X_Phackter 12-26-2023, 11:59 AM We gotta face the fact that we are not in the position (again..) to draft a top 2 QBs. There are a few teams who need a new QB, and there will be a bidding war for the top 2 QBs. Is it worth the price?
If you end up with your franchise QB for the next decade, yeah it's worth it.

And some of our fanbase wants to pass up on the higher-odds of successfully landing a QB because a couple teams have found them in later rounds.

nonniey 12-26-2023, 01:11 PM Given remaining games etc. I think the draft order is unlikely to change so its now very possible that Maye is there at 3, assuming Bears grab Williams and Cards take Harrison. Given their needs this makes total sense. But then there's a few wildcards. While there are other teams with a need at QB that could trade up, the Pats are most capable of swapping picks with the Cards and likely to have a new HC looking to make a splash. Do we talk to the Cards to head this off? Are we so desperate to grab Maye we blow up our own draft?
I actually doubt, barring a stupid offer, either the Bears or Cards trade. Even if they were to trade back with the Pats, there's no guarantee who they want is there as we could then take Harrison. So most likely everyone in the top 3 holds onto their positions and its Williams, Harrison and Maye. Then the Pats reach for Daniels and they're back to square one at QB.
I can live with Maye @ #3, but trading up even if an option, would be folly given the talent that would be available regardless of the top 2 picks, and our needs.
As I pointed out earlier the draft order is very likely to change for the worse for us unless the Cards win one or the Pats win again. We are almost tied in SoS with the Pats and our yearly opponents are more likely to win than theirs are over the next two weeks meaning the Pats will more than likely have a weaker SoS than us in 2 weeks.

Out of all the times to beat the Cowboys, that may be the worst week of all times. Hell, if I'm Dallas, I try to tank that game to hurt Washington.

That isnt true, if they win out and the Eagles slip up Cowboys are the #2 seed

You act as if I'm the only person not sold on taking a QB at #3. Even if I was the only person, I'd still be fine with my belief in not taking any of these QBs at the #3 spot.

The Eagles/Cowboys split the season series. Do we know who has the tiebreaker if they both finish at 12-5?
Eagles have the Cardinals at home this week and finish at NYG the following week, so I highly doubt they lose. But I guess if both teams win this week (or Cowboys win and Eagles lose), and Cowboys could win the tiebreaker if they end up w/ the same record, they would have something to play for against us in Week 18.
Which is gross, that means we all need to be pulling for Dallas to win their next 2 games. They play at home against Detroit this week. NFL smartly scheduled them for Saturday, before the Eagles play on Sunday. Go Cowboys (:puke:) and go Cardinals.
Note - Thanks for the hope. I forgot they were only 1 game behind the Eagles. I was only looking at teams they were ahead of.
