Idea is to see them interact with peers. As for the number, around 20 prospects are tentatively set to be in Ashburn tomorrow. AnonEmouse 04-16-2024, 02:23 PM Something tells me Peters knows exactly how important a strong, if not HoF level, LT is to a franchise, and that he'd be a fool if he passed up the chance to get one in this draft. If he's not even thinking about how to move back up to have the best chance of getting one of the top 3 LT's, he's a fool. I don't think he's a fool. CRedskinsRule 04-16-2024, 07:24 PM Oh I'm sure Peters has a plan. But I sure hope it's not trading next year's first. There is a good chance this year's top OT's fall to a spot (11-13) where next year's first would seal the deal. If they were falling because of their quality that would be one thing but it is truly a perfect storm situation that could see top 5 talent at OT drop because of the QB and WR star talent going in the first 8 picks. Also, since it's a deep draft for offensive tackles most teams will be willing to wait till a run starts. If Peters can get a top 15 pick for a reasonable trade including next year's first or second an one of our 2nd's I hope he does it in a blink of an eye. Sent from my SM-G781U using Tapatalk Would rather he trade both 2ds with a 3rd and keep next years 1st to move into that range. Our two 2ds and pick 100 (last 3rd) should get us to 13 or our two 2ds and pick 67 (first 3rd) should get us to 10. But I would think next year's first would let us keep 36 or 40 and that would be an excellent spot for a DE. Overall, as long as we aren't left scratching our head with the players chosen(j davis), i trust how they will go about achieving it. Then we don't know if he's a bust, shell-shocked or just in need of a good LT. Or we do OK, say even 8-9, and come up middle of the pack. We still need a good/great LT but there's no prospect where we pick in '25, so we go BPA and still need an LT. The draft is always a risk, but I'd rather gamble next years pick on a guy everyone covets this year, than wait and hope things work out next year. Besides, Peters knows that while he has rope to play with, he can't hang around too long without results. He wants a winning team inside 2-3 years to cement his job, and he won't get that by waiting and hoping. Darrell Green Fan 04-17-2024, 08:20 AM If by giving up next year's first, which could be utilized on a legit CB1 for example, netted a guy like Joe Alt I can see the argument. But they won't get that high without sacrificing multiple picks and I don't want to do that in such a deep draft. And with such a deep OT class I just have to believe they can get a quality starting LT without sacrificing next year's first. |
