I think it's pretty obvious that Johnson is our guy.

I have fond memories, iirc wasn't that Santana who mossed him in 05 on Monday night? Thanks for your contribution to probably my favorite Skins highlight.

Wait, that was in 2005?
We’ve been suffering for a while.

Yes, Moss ran by Glenn twice!

the last 3 minutes of that game were so much fun!! I was watching the game with a buddy of mine that is a big cowboys fan, so up until that point he was in a great mood and i was pissy!! lol . . . after those two scores everything changed!! great night!!

As much as I like what Johnson is doing w/ the Lions, I'm a little baffled why they're not talking to Vrabel. You have to make that call and sit down w/ him. If you're talking to Quinn why aren't you talking to Vrabel?

An interesting Titans note, they are restructuring their front office to better incorporate analytics.
Titans Muscling up on Football Analytics

The Tennessee Titans, which a year ago ranked among the least advanced NFL teams for using analytics, are reorganizing their leadership structure to better use performance metrics.

Given that Harris is doing the same, possibly Vrabel isn't a supporter of incorporating analytic data and so the Washington search committee simply didn't see his view syncing up with the direction they are going.

As of now, the open HC jobs are:
Washington
Seattle
Falcons

HC spots filled (Schefter or other confirmed sources):
Chargers - Harbaugh
Titans - Callahan (Cinci OC)
Carolina - Canales (Tampa OC)
Vegas - Pierce (interim tag removed)

Suddenly there are not as many coaching opportunities out there as it seemed on Black Monday.

Funny I can't help thinking that those already filled, aside from Raiders and possibly Chargers, have gone for guys that would take those jobs rather than necessarily their 1st choice/best available. Says to me that the likes of Johnson and McDonald are not only waiting on their season finishing but are waiting on the best job. Likewise we're trying to get the best guy we can rather than settle early. Sounds good either way.

Johnson is the perfect fit for a young team. He can grow as a HC with the organization. It won’t happen overnight but I think he will succeed in DC

Everyone is obsessed w/ analytics. I wonder how many games analytics has won? Or lost? Seems kind of silly to me. Brandon Staley was a big analytics guy. As is David Tepper.

And the funny thing is the best ever coaches ever knew nothing about analytics.

So I can see why they’d do this. One, out of respect and two, let Ben Johnson finish the season.

Per Adam Schefter:

“ The last two head coach openings of this cycle are the Seahawks and Commanders. Neither team is expected to hire anyone until next week, after Sunday’s conference championship games, per league sources.”
