I think that Ramsey has all the tools to win at a high level for the Skins.

First, last year he did show remarkable improvement as the season went on. Guys, when you look at the stats, you have to throw out the first Giants game. You do this because not only did he come off the bench and play from behind, he also had not been getting the snaps in practice because he was the backup. It's just not realistic to expect him to be on top of his game when thrown into that situation.

Second, Ramsey can make all the throws. Yes, even the short ones. If last year didn't prove that, I don't know what would. What he needs to do is get comfortable in the system so that he can start seeing his second and third receivers (something we didn't see last year because we would only send out one or two guys).

Third, Ramsey's footwork is terrible, but footwork does not win championships. Aikman, Warner, Brady, even Rypien had two things in common. Bad mobility, and a great ability to read the field. If QB mobility were really that important, Vick, Mcnabb, Culpepper would all have rings... Don't get me wrong, I would love to have a more mobile QB, it's just that it has been proven that you can win big without a modile QB.

Fourth, and this is important, Ramsey has to learn to make the throw to win the game. When the game is on the line, Ramsey has a tendency to go Jim Kelly on us. I think that Gibbs will be able to help him through film study to break him of this. Once his confidence is right and he doesn't feel like it is all on him, I think he will get over it. If not, Gibbs will have no choice but to move on.

So, this year is the year. He knows the system, 4th year in the league, and Gibbs has made his offensive adjustments. Time to step up and take control of the O.

No last year did not prove ramsey can make all the throws. It proved that mark brunell is terrible .and that ramsey has zero touch in short passing, i remember that pass to that #82 te in the cowboys game ,and ramsey is not accurate .Ramsey threw a 5 yard pass to hard and it was tiped and picked off.

Ramsey has slow feet,He cant feel the pressure coming. when the heat is on he throws passes into coverage and gets picked off.

And why do all you ramsey fans say, every time ramsey does something wrong its steve spurriers fault, its gibbs fault, coles and gardner dropped passes blah blah blah black sheep. Ramsey is the problem his not an NFL qb the end. watch the tape ,the tape doesnt lie. A tiger does not change its strips.Ramsey is not a good qb.

He will get a shot in 2005 .But if i was a betting man ramsey is gone after the 2005 season and campbell will be starting in 2006. campbell is accurate, taller better deep ball.doesnt panic in the pocket either.

The whole argument of Gibbs not trusting Ramsey because he went out and got Campbell is getting old. As somebody mentioned before, why is it bad to have competition at the QB position? Nobody on here was saying, man, guess Shawn Springs is done, they're looking at this guy McQuarters. Greg Williams doesn't trust Shawn Springs, look at all the D-backs we bring in. Please, we know Brunnell sucked ass, and I think Gibbs may have faced that realization too. Now we have Ramsey and Campbell, instead of Ramsey and Brunnell. Was spending all those picks on Campbell too much? Ironically, hopefully it was. It means he never sees the field, which means Ramsey is playing well, and I can live with that.

The three QB's you mention GoSkins who don't have Rings, Vick, McNabb, and Culpepper are all play-off QB's. While they may not have a Ring yet they all are closer to getting one than PR. The age has arrived in the NFL where mobile QB's are going to be premium because the way Defense's play today, imobile QB's are going to be sitting ducks. And while I agree Ripen was not in the least bit mobile, at the time he was playing he was without a doubt the best long-ball thrower in the league, and these words came from his favorite receiver "Gary Clark". In addition Ripen was protected by one of the very best O lines that ever played the game. I will be extremely elated if and when PR can reach that plateau.

i just have one more question for the ramsey fan club?
how are you so sure ramsey is going to have a good season in 2005 when he has never even being able to go 16 games.and has made uncountable mistakes since he got here?

Ramsey completed 62.1% of his throws last year. If he wasn't completing the short ones, what was he completing then??

If you are a betting man let me know, cause I will take you up on that 1.

Where does your vast knowledge of Campbell come from? Considering he hasen't played a down in the NFL?

So let's get this straight, players, coach's, and scheme's don't have anything to do with a QB's success?

How bout Drew Bree's did that tiger change it's stripes? Or perhap's he was a good QB all along and just needed to get comfortable in the right situation, either way before last season why don't you take a look at what people were saying comparitivly about the 2, you will find that Bree's wasen't even considered to be in the same class as Ramsey NOT EVEN CLOSE!
The only reason he started was because of Rivers prolonged holdout.

Circumstances can very easily and quite often dictate the ability and progress of a QB, especially a young one with a new system to learn every year.

Campbell will become trade bait in a couple of year's once Ramsey solidifies his job as starter. The best we can hope from Campbell is that he developes enough to bring back more than what we gave up. He wasen't a great college QB I don't know why everyone believes this kid is going to be a super bowl caliber QB? Ramsey has proven a heck of lot more than Campbell, with change after change.

All Cambell did was go 13-0 in the super hard SEC . and almost go to the nation championship game, , beat a very good v tech team, and pass for 67 % and was the SEc offensive player of the year, yea your rigth his just a ok qb lol please

ramsey will be the trade bate in a year or two

Don't make me laugh!

As if a QB's winning percentage in college amout's to anything. Go take a long look at the line of miami and florida QB's who actually won national championship's and won heisman's who were lucky to make a team as a backup let alone get drafted.

I guess you feel college isn't made up of constant mismatches of talent, and an overly talented college team can just overwhelm other teams regardless of who's quarterbacking. It's not like Auburn had any 1st rd. pick's this past draft, or did they? Yes 4, and 3 of them went in the top 10, it's not like Campbell had to carry that team.
