I could not disagree with this statement more. The entire Republican Party has sold out for one Donald J. Trump. Even those who can't stand the guy kiss his ass for votes. They are heavily invested in Trump.

I meant just from my perspective. As a conservative, I'd rather have republicans control the house and senate than Trump winning.

Just look at the Confirmation hearings for the Supreme Court or the Senate and Jim Jordon. These Republicans have sold their soul to the Devil sadly. Now they subpoena Walz yet Jordon refuse to honor the one issued for himself.

One of the many things the Republicans have done to piss me off is how they had decided as a group that they, and only them, are allowed to simply blow off Congressional subpeonas. They simply did not show because Trump told them not to. It's disgusting behavior and it should no longer be tollerated.

It is unfortunately an erosion of our democratic principles and aligning us with monarchial principles. The American public seems willing to accept it.

Maga is at it again..............

MAGA Launches Most Unbelievable Conspiracy Yet—on Migrants Eating Pets

The MAGA right, including Republican vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance, are spreading a racist rumor that Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio, are capturing, cooking, and eating people’s pet cats and ducks.

Right-wingers seemed to have conflated a report from Canton, Ohio, of a woman who was arrested for allegedly killing and eating a cat, with complaints from residents in Springfield, more than 170 miles away from Canton. The woman is a U.S. citizen, and there is no indication she is a Haitian immigrant...............................

So, the polls are tightening yet again, many even now predicting Trump wins. This is a reflection of the Trump team highlighting that Harris is too progressive for American tastes. Again, she needed to overcome that perception (which actually is based on reality) and now what I was saying last month is now being discussed openly by pundits left and right - that the Walz choice was a mistake (one of the reporters I heard softened it a bit by calling it a missed opportunity). Making that choice undermined her attempt to portray herself as more moderate and like I said last month may have cost her the election.

Yes they are "tightening" but not the way you think or for the reasons you express..............

With less than 60 days before the 2024 presidential election — and on the eve of the first debate between Vice President Harris and former President Donald Trump — polls suggest that this presidential election may be the closest in modern history.
As of Labor Day, national polling averages aggregated by both FiveThirtyEight (Harris +3) and RealClearPolitics (Harris +2) show the race to be effectively tied. That’s a marked improvement for Democrats from just a few weeks ago, when Biden was the nominee.

Harris’s polling surge has led some, including The Telegraph, as well as Bloomberg’s Michael Sasso and Mark Niquette, to predict that the vice president and Democrats will win. But while not discounting the fact that Harris does lead nationally, and that Democrats are significantly stronger than they were with Biden atop the ticket, I do not agree with the Telegraph or Sasso and Niquette.

The country has lost it's collective minds. Planning a fund raiser for thugs who attacked our Capitol alone should have finished any candidate in our nation's history. At one time Republicans voted to impeach Richard Nixon who did far less than Donald J. Trump, today there is literally no line he can cross. American polltics disgusts me today. Trump is threatening to jail journalists and poltical oppenents and he is leading the polls. WTF is going on here????? The rest of the world is laughing at us.

If he wins I'll have no choice but to simply tune out poltics. In all honesty my life went virtually unchanged regardless of who was the President.

I know I lean lefter than most but I don't see the labeling of Harris as a progressive. The only time in her career she aligned herself with the left was her 2020 campaign. As a DA and Attorney general she said she would advocate for democracy but always ended up with more moderate and mainstream views. Jailing drug users, during the banking crisis supported banking industry and not home owners the list goes on. These were all things widely supported by mainstream politicians and not the left. After her 2020 campaign she aligned herself with Biden's moderate view and neither has really pushed for democracy for the US citizenship.
