he's short (well, normal person height), not sure he would have been a first rounder.

He was actually projected by many to be a top overall pick. Play just fell off a bit junior year. Don’t think it fell off enough to be a fifth rounder but im
Glad it did.

Yes at the moment im pinning my hopes of football happiness on him. Was an absolute stud for his first two years in college and I believe he can do it in the NFL. Looking for Drew Brees 2.0 in height and performance!

I haven't seen to many details but 18.5 (19) M cap hit first year. 82 guaranteed over first two years. My guess is they will seek to restructure after this year and depending on how cap goes up because that is a steep cap hit the second year.

They should've taken 5th year option. I don't think that is hindsight. Your GM knew they would have to negotiate with DJ and SB and that gave DJ a bit of leverage that could've been avoided.

I don't knock Giants for this signing though. You have a QB you are comfortable with it is better than going back into QB purgatory.

I am hoping you are right. The pragmatist in me is saying there is something we don't know and that is why he fell from 1st to 5th. I don't think hist stats from Jr year warranted that precipitous of a fall. I don't think it is height related either both Willis and Zappe are same height but went prior to Howell. If it was the drop off in production that caused the fall we probably have the steal of the draft.

Thing is they have not been very good to Jones , Judge ,Schumer, 3,different QB Coaches and 4 OCs and no decent WR corp. They dared him to play well and earn a contract, he did. Remember not one of his WR at the beginning of the season was there 6 weeks later. I think Jones is very good, elite no , great no, ....hopefully. Yes I do think they can win with him and Barkley who IMO will sign within the week to a deal.

Nothing we don’t know. Was a lot of chatter about it being a weak quarterback class and teams shied away from the position as a whole. Dude is mobile, smart, and has a cannon. An accurate cannon. I got big hopes.

True but for every team who has suffered with lack of steady play there is one who suffered for overpaying for steady play. You gotta be somewhat lucky to find one who works out in the first place, and than you gotta play your cards right when you pay him. We seem to fail to do either. Cousins is certainly steady play, and we lucked out with the pick but than we played our cards wrong. Howell is interesting to me because I really think he is better than a fifth rounder. If he came out the year before he would have been a first round pick. Fingers crossed [emoji1696].

I think you're missing the point. You are always going to overpay for QBs. I feel that you rarely hear of a team "suffering" because they overpaid a QB. The only time a team can walk away from steady QB play is if they have a young player in the wings ready to go.

I guess a team like the Ravens has enough reputation built in that they can have a losing season or two while they figure out their QB situation if they move on from Lamar. But look at their competition within their own division, all of them have either a promising young QB (Steelers), a establish QB (Browns), and a top 5 QB (Bengals).

Don't misunderstand me , I don't think anyone is worth money like that. Brady ,Mahomes, Jordon , Tiger, Labron. All sports stars are way over paid JMO. Yet in the market that is currently in use this is what these guys get, each new contract sets the market.

One of the most tired arguments in sports is when it comes to contracts. Fans seem to think players should be paid based on how we perceive their ranking solely based on their play, it just doesn't work that way. Next man up gets paid.

They are not, do you know how much money they bring everyone else involved in their sport and they are the ones out there destroying their bodies.

Think of every pro sport athlete as a small business or large honestly.

The world loves its sport heroes which creates a massive demand and they are the very limited supply of humans that can fill that craving.

We the fans set the market they just use their supply to make a lot of money, good for them.
