Why do stats go out the window? I'm not sure I agree with that.
I agree that Mahomes is arguably the best player in football, but my point was that it doesn't appear that Vic helped them all that much. Their D got embarrassed, in the 2nd half especially.
They are somewhat making fun of the whole thing here in Denver, with Fangio being the Broncos HC from 2019-2021, saying that the Eagles defense looked eerily similar to the Bronco's defense in his unsuccessful three year stint here. I didn't watch enough of the Eagles' games to know if they changed much of their defense for the Super Bowl. Maybe KC just exploited them because they can - and it would have happened with or without Vic's "help".
Either way I'm good with the result. KC now joins the Commanders as the only two teams to beat the Eagles this year - with Jalen Hurts as the QB.
And we beat them by a bigger margin -- in Philadelphia no less.

I don't know who crowned their DL the best DL ever, but what they were able to do all season long didn't translate to the biggest game of the year. I know Patrick and Andy had a lot to do with that, but makes me wonder how much they tried to change based on Fangio's consulting for this game, rather than just stick with what's been working.
Defensive performance is typically unpredictable especially high impact plays like sacks and turnovers. The only metric that seems reliable is QB hits. Given that and two weeks to focus it will always be an advantage to the offense and in particular passing offense which is easiest to predict week in week out.

expect it wasn't the super bowl
MPO is around 12 for Barkley per for 3 years.
$12M a year would barely keep him in the top 10 highest paid backs. McCaffrey leads the pack at $16M per year, I'd start there.

Giants would be really dumb to give Barkley a big contract
Zek is hurting the Cowboys, you can always find a RB

He turned down a 12 mill per during the season
4 years 62-70 million. Giants eating up that cap
There is no way in this day and age I want to give 10 mill plus per RB

Rarely do teams get bang for their buck on a RB's second contract.
I'd definitely let him walk.

You know it really sucks for RBs...you could argue their job is one of the hardest with the hits they take, and their shelf life is one of the smallest because of said hits. And there are some that are clearly better than most, but yet...that shelf life is still the same.

I think he'll stay a Giant but there is a business side of things for sure. If he walks I can understand it .
