Shit - Armani Rodgers busted his Achilles. Was intrigued by his potential.

Damn, that sucks. Feels like it's destined for him to never really actually play for us.

Unless Thomas is better after more time from his injury, not very excited about the TE room at all.

Really sucks about Rodgers, he seems to have some nice potential.

If they were really concerned about Logan Thomas I think they would have made a move to upgrade TE. I think they're counting on him bouncing back strong.

That sucks...just tough luck for him. He missed six games due to injury last year and it looks like he'll miss the entire 2023 season.

He was 4th on the depth chart though. Maybe he was going to break out - maybe not. With regard to his production thus far though (5 total receptions), it won't be too hard to replace him. I don't really see this as a significant blow.

Kazmeir Allen - sounds like an exciting young player. Still early, but depending on how he progresses, he could potentially makes Curtis Samuel a cap casualty. Would be over $10mil cap savings if CS is released after 6/1.

Yup, i wouldn’t cut Curtis now but Allen just seems like that typical Chiefs gadget player. And my goodness, get Mline off any kick returns and just off the team

Le'Veon Bell says he liked to get high before games. (https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/37750576/free-agent-rb-leveon-bell-says-smoked-marijuana-games)

I think the real takeaway here is the fact that head coaches make a big difference. Lotta people shit on Tomlin because they haven't been contenders in years but the reality is when your head coach is a guy like Adam Gase he makes Tomlin look like Belichick. If a player went from an All-Pro under Tomlin to a JAG under Gase safe to take him at his word that head coaches matter.

I'm eager to see what Allen can do but I think you're getting a little carried away to think he can beat out Curtis Samuel. To me, having a healthy Curtis Samuel in a contract year (in other words, fully capable and highly motivated) is a very good thing for Commanders fans.

I'm not sure I would say I'm getting carried away. I did say it's still early and that it would depend on how he progresses.

I don't think it's out of the question though. If K Allen shows enough to where they think he can offer the same production (or more) than what they have been able to squeeze out of the oft-injured Curtis Samuel, he could definitely become a cap casualty. That's a lot of dough that could be used for extending someone else (Young, Sweat, Curl, Fuller, Gibson, Reaves...).

I cant see Curtis as a cap casualty this season.
