SFREDSKIN 06-25-2023, 10:27 AM No link? From Twitter WCommandersfan99 06-25-2023, 02:08 PM Just hope the oline is decent this year. It would be such a travesty if Howell didn't have a lot of time to throw, especially with all our weapons. Eager to see if we sign anyone else before/during camp for oline. mooby 06-26-2023, 07:53 AM From Twitter Twitter doesn't have links anymore? davy 06-26-2023, 08:10 AM Make no mistake about it - this staff LOVES Saahdiq Charles https://twitter.com/Tiller56/status/1672612470714769408 Chico23231 06-29-2023, 02:18 PM Lotta folks talking about Khaleke Hudson Hudson, a backup/special-teamer in his first three seasons, worked with the starters during the spring in part because Jamin Davis was recovering from offseason knee surgery and free agent signee Cody Barton was working with the backups as he learned the defense. Hudson impressed the coaches, however, building on a successful start in the regular-season finale. He played fast this spring — as he did in the finale against Dallas. While Washington entered the offseason wanting to improve its linebacker depth, Hudson’s one-game performance, as well as this spring, put that quest on hold. Will be watching him super close in preseason before real games begin. Chico23231 07-03-2023, 11:13 AM Jadeveon Clowney folks? Being linked to us as a rotational piece, I’d say bring him in AnonEmouse 07-03-2023, 01:38 PM I've no issue with trying Clowney out as cover, but does that then suggest a) we can't rely upon Young (or want to trade him) and/or b) that the depth we currently have isn't up to it? calia 07-03-2023, 02:28 PM From The Athletic (and I think this is fair, and the thing I am probably worried about the most): Washington Commanders Has the offensive line improved enough? “Enough” acknowledges some boost from the team moving on from last season’s older starting guards — Andrew Norwell will be released once healthy — and adding new personnel. Yet, virtually no Pro Bowl potential exists among the starters, and only left tackle Charles Leno is a definitive steady option. Let’s see how new right tackle Andrew Wylie (nine sacks allowed in 2022) performs with Sam Howell behind him instead of Super Bowl MVP/QB magician Patrick Mahomes, or Sam Cosmi takes to right guard duties or free-agent signee Nick Gates thrives at center or if the left guard battle between Saahdiq Charles and Chris Paul produces a definitive or default victor. Rookie center Ricky Stromberg and fourth-round tackle Braeden Daniels might be long-term answers, but 2023 may turn into redshirt seasons. Washington needs robust work from the OL right away. — Ben Standig |
