Other gripes - thought the playcalling had weak moments - like running Curtis Samuel up the middle on third down. Running Samuel was bad the entire game - they were ready for him every time. Not chipping Thibodeaux - he embarrassed everyone he was lined up against. Overall I'm not impressed with Scott Turner. He needs to understand Heinicke and the offense's limitations and game plan around that.

The good vibes from the past few weeks have disappeared. The reality is with Heinicke we are limited - he has the magic in special moments but overall he's not consistent enough to be a long term starter. His vision isn't great - even that big completion to Curtis Samuel would've been a TD if we had a better qb that got the ball out earlier.
I'm trying to focus on something other than the refs - that sideline ref can suck the biggest bag of dicks. He did Terry dirty on that call. And all the missed calls and the ticky-tack calls - I don't wanna believe a ref would bet on games in 2022 but I can't remember the last time the calls were so bad. My tinfoil hat is for this one.
We are WELL below average at:
1. Offensive Coordinator
2. QB
3. Offensive Line
But besides that, we're pretty strong on offense lol.
The offense needs a complete and utter overhaul going into next year. Glad the defense is playing better. We need to add a CB and a LB (maybe a couple more depth guys), but we should have lots of resources available to fix the offense.

i was totally thinking that! that should have been a TD and nearly was a incomplete pass

I have lots of complaints about him, but this is the main one. He refuses to call a game based on the personnel he has. He just can't stick to what works. He is either too stupid or too stubborn to call this offense the best it can be done w/ all the shortcomings on the roster.
If his name was Scott Bubkis, there is no way he would have this job.

Heinicke is so bad, I'm just happy when the ball gets to our WR where they can catch it, without getting killed.

Actually, Heinicke made only 1 poor decision in the game and got away with it. The fumbling issue which was key really doesn't go into the decision category.
Idk about that. He definitely missed more than a couple open guys and threw where he shouldn’t have - sort of a hallmark of his.
Also he overthrew/ underthrew a few. Another hallmark. Not poor decision making there but poor play.
TH is just too limited for any real sustained success.
The winning streak was nice but let's be honest a lot of things have to go right for TH's limitations to not burn you. This offense has a very low margin for error with him under center.
Didn't help the defense got gashed and the refs were their usual garbage selves.
Going back to Wentz has to be a real discussion now.

This is the reason so many of us want Howell. Ok he’s a rookie who cares?? All of these rookies are playing now. I don’t want Wentz but man his arm is so much better than THs.
We can beat the bad teams but there is probably a 10% chance we win Saturday. Hell maybe less. SF is playing like the 2nd best team in football right now.
How are we going to score on that defense???

Let’s not let Ron off the hook. His team came out flat AF after a bye against the same team we just played. Dude brings nothing to the table. Apparently doesn’t motivate anyone, isn’t a very good in game Coach, is a terrible GM.
Oline might be the worst pass pro line Ive ever seen. Scott Turner is complete garbage. He just is too stubborn to understand what his offense is capable of. Logan Thomas days of being a TE-1 are long gone. Taylor Heinicke cannot read the field, and he underthrows or overthrows almost every other ball. Never hits anyone in stride.
Basically outside of wr and rb our offense needs a complete overhaul.
Defense played well, but we really struggle getting to the quarterback. Bostic, there are no words.
That sums up our current group. Once again, Rivera's record speaks for itself. He has to take full responsibility for Scott Turner's ineptness and a crappy o-line.
Defensively, we're too reliant on Allen and Payne.

This is the biggest takeaway for me. Scott Turners job right now is very difficult. He has to try to scheme around a QB who cannot process and read the field very well, AND also cannot get the ball to WRs who are open very well either. And, an offensive line that cannot stop hardly anyone's pass rush. B Rob is his only sure bet right now...because Gibson is always a fumble away from ruining a drive in the back of his mind. I'm not forgiving him totally here, after 3 Samuel runs that got totally stuffed, maybe move away from those and just give it to B Rob more since he was rolling. And why can't we run a successful screen pass? You don't have to have a good oline to do that...but they can't and don't do them. Like others have said, this team has to play a perfect game AND get a few breaks...and they didn't either last night.
