I've been meaning to start one of these for a while and with all the car talk going on, I thought now may be the best time. Anyway, are there any other car nuts on the warpath like me?

Here's the newest addition to my driveway:http://skinsfan.us/PublicGallery/4Runner/DSC04732.JPG
That's right, off roading w/ 30 day tags!!! :D

I also have a 1987 K10 and 2001 Honda Civic.

In 2 years (when my insurance goes down), I plan on getting a C6 Z06. That will be my pride and joy that will never get rained on and will only be driven between the months of may and september. :D

I've always been crazy about anything w/ wheels and an engine. I got my first dirtbike when I was 6 and got my second one when I was 7. I was driving the trucks in the fields when I was 8 and learned to drive a manual transmission when I was 12. When I was 14 I saved up enough money to get my first ATV, a '96 Honda Foreman 400 (that thing was a tank!). In 99, I bought the K10 and in May of 01 bought the Civic brand new (now has 110k). I got my second ATV (2003 Honda Rincon) in January of 03 (right before a big snowstorm :D) and on April 22 of this year, I got my 4Runner, a 2005 SR5 V6 4x4 (already has 4200mi). I plan on getting my fiance a new vehicle within the next month, too. It will either be a Jeep Rubicon or a Scion tC.

So, what does everyone else have/ want?

I used to be pretty car crazy. Into the whole customization thing, now I've gotten older and just put tasteful mods on my car. I'm SO proud that it almost brings a tear to my eye to see someone BUY an SUV and ACTUALLY take it offroading.

MAD props.

Oh, and I have a Mazda3. Gas mileage is great. Good power, lots of space. If I wasn't being rational, I WOULD have bought an Acura RSX Type-S.

i have my lowly 95 Ford Taurus, which doesn't do too bad (hit 100k yesterday, put 40k+ since February '03). my wife's 96 Saturn SL is on its last legs, and she keeps hinting at wanting a Hyundai Santa Fe (what is with women and wanting "cute" cars?!?!), so I think i'm going to trade in both cars to get her the Santa Fe (or comparable SUV) and me a commuter bucket (older Japanese model mid to small car, one i can put 100k on when it already has 100k+ on it)...

i would love one of the new 3's (best gas mileage in its class), but we can't afford 2 new cars, and since she's got a much shorter commute, i'd rather get her something nice.

What is with women and wanting SUVs period? One of my friend's wives is about 5'2" and wanted an EXCURSION! Are you kidding me?!

I always laugh when I see women driving these huge tanks down the road. They just look ridiculous.

Meanwhile here I am in my Ford Focus.

I'm not a car nut, I just like something that gets me where I need to go and doesn't hit my wallet too hard on gas and maintenance.

My brother sells Fords so I got a sweet deal on it, nearly half off the sticker. Hard to beat that! As long as he works for Ford that's what I'll be driving.

At the first intersection out of the dealership when I was bringing my 4Runner home, I was at the front of the line waiting at a red light. When the light turned green, I looked for oncoming traffic and sure enough here comes this woman in a crew cab F350 pulling a horse trailer - straight through the red light. She was talking on the cell phone and NEVER even touched the break pedal. She ran the red light by a good 5 seconds - and never even realized it! I was glad I looked because either I or my fiance who was following me would have been good and smashed.

it drives me nuts as well...if my wife had her way, she'd be driving a Surburban. i figure the Santa Fe is a glorified station wagon that sits a bit higher.

what cracks me up is the women who drive around in H2s...i mean, gimme a break. do you really need that thing to get groceries and take the kids to soccer practice?

(no offense of course, as no one really needs something as big as the H2)

I think the ONLY reason that someone needs a huge SUV is if you are a contractor and make your OWN deliveries. Girls always want stupid ass SUVs because they think they look cute in them.

Buck, buck, chickenheads.

H2s.:vomit-smi

Our country makes it easy for people who are less endowed to look HUGE in their cars.
