"Redskins - New C Casey Rabach will help, but LG Derrick Dockery must improve." Grade: C

Is this an overall grade for our centers and guards?

Seems like we should be a bit higher with Thomas and Rabach. Dockery shouldn't take the grade down that much.

Seriously. A C?! I would give him a B- alone and Rabach an A-/B+.

I don't want to hear crap like that when they talk about how our "line will be the best in the division." I know this isn't counting Jansen and Samuels, but come on.

Later today I will try to post what they graded the rest of the teams in the NFL. But yeah Matty that is an overall grade on our Guards and Centers...

Nobody said we have the best line in the division, the ESPN article said we have the most talented. Big difference.

Well an analysis is analyzing talent, and I think with our talent level we should be above C.

Oh well, something else to get disjointed about. I'm just pissy cause my girlfriend got me to drive down to Tech and "convinced" me to stay overnight with promises of hot love and then I realized this morning I had to get up at 5 to make it back to work in time.

No shower, 4 hours of sleep... Urgh.

Devil's Advocate:

Randy Thomas is clearly the better player of the three at this point. Last year was the first year that Rabach started an entire season. Somebody please show me an analysis from outside of the Redskins, Baltimore organizations on the upside and downside to this guy. He is versatile, he is young. He runs a 5.3 40 and came into the league weighing 298, now he weighs 305. He is intelligent, but not overpowering. He is not an automatic B+ or A-.

On a scale to 100. Taking into account all that I have been told, or have read:

Randy Thomas 89
Casey Rabach 79
Derrick Dockery 69-70

The middle of our line is nothing compared to our tackles.

i think dockery does bring down our o-line pretty much. what we should do is figure out og dan neil asking price is. he started the last 4 or 5 years for the broncos in their infamous zone blocking. he is not that old and was released because of the cap. he would be an incredible upgrade from the slow and stale derrick dockery. just think about first before you all shoot it down. we still have a lot of cuts to make, so im pretty much sure that their will be enough money for a league min. with escaladers in the contract to make it more.

I DO like the idea that he previously blocked for Portis. If he would come cheap, I would say it couldn't hurt to have somd depth.
