MTK 11-03-2022, 09:40 AM no musk, no bezos please. I'd like someone non-ridiculous owning/running the team. Seriously. Haven't we had enough drama since 99? We don't need another clown in charge. sdskinsfan2001 11-03-2022, 09:49 AM I hope some billionaire I've never heard of buys the team. Redskins247 11-03-2022, 09:51 AM Seriously. Haven't we had enough drama since 99? We don't need another clown in charge. I agree as well. Obviously anyone now who buys an NFL team is primarily looking for the status of it, but you just never know. Look at the moves the Panthers new owner has made...very Snyder like and very involved. I remember when Snyder bought this franchise and we all thought we were lucky because he was young and had grown up a Redskins fan and all he wanted to do was win. Maybe someone like Bezos would be good, because he's already famous and he would still have so much else going on that this would be just ONE of the many things that he would be involved with, and he'd hire a competent GM and let him run the team. mooby 11-03-2022, 09:59 AM oAdrOauD9hE +1 on the "no well known celebrity douchebag owners" train. But somehow we gotta avoid the Teppers of the world too. It will be tough. If true he would be the first Majority Black Owner in the NFL. Coff 11-03-2022, 10:54 AM no musk, no bezos please. I'd like someone non-ridiculous owning/running the team. I’d be alright with Bezos. He’s not an unpredictable, self-conscious, attention-whore. Part of Musk’s business strategy has always been marketing himself alongside his companies. That’s not to say that he doesn’t run an effective organization, but consider Tesla: it doesn’t rank in the top ten of automakers by revenue, yet is the highest valued. The guy is great at selling a vision and forcing his face into everything he does. Bezos success is more about product and less about marketing and self-aggrandizement. He doesn’t feel the need to wave his dick around. In other words, there’s never drama with Bezos. I’d be all for it Coff 11-03-2022, 11:14 AM Terrible comedian, smart business owner. I’d be all for it Can he afford it though? The NFL requires owners to put down 30% for a team. If the team sells for $6B, that means he would need $1.8B in cash. His net worth is estimated at "only" $800M. Even if he cashed out, he still wouldn't be half way there. I can see him being a minority owner, but I seriously question if he can afford to buy this team. He would have to convince an awful lot of people to put down an awful lot of money to just be minority owners. |
