The Sam Howell Thread

Would Jimmy G cost more than Wentz?🤔

Wholly agree with getting in a vet to compete with/backup Howell. Wholly disagree with trading for ANY vet QB, simply because you're paying 3 ways; picks, and salary which would both probably be overpaying, then there's the players you miss out on in giving those picks away. Take a vet FA, and probably draft another QB so we go into camp with 4 QBs, and can stash one on the PS. Then if Howell or the vet don't work out, draft again next year and keep doing it.

I could easily live with Carr if he comes as an FA (though I doubt he'll come here). Brissett too, if neither of the aforementioned want to come. Be interesting to see who else might be available after the draft.

Brisset is a big no for me.

The crack pipe some of y’all are smoking looks a lot like Howells dick.
The disrespect for Cousins is crazy.
KC lead this bullshit team to two playoffs and the Vikings to two as well.
KC is in every other pro bowl and is near the league lead in passing yards every season.
He is who he is and that is a very good QB during the regular season*

You can’t pay our own guys and bring in a Vet QB. Draft till you get it right.

How do you know if you have it right if you don't actually play the guys you pick? No one supporting Howell for 2023 has said not to add QBs to the roster. Most of us have said add a vet and draft a guy. I just believe Howell will be better than the guys we will be able to add.

QB is the only way to fast track this team to success. Why settle for an undersized project QB?

We need to bring in a project QB in the first round that has all the tools like a Mahomes or Allen and hope he works out. If not, you have midget Howell.
If he can’t win it outright in the preseason he probably isn’t going to be any good.

We need options. I’m not against Howell but I want to reach for an elite QB instead of being in QB purgatory like Dallas.

I think Howell will be a good starter. My preference would be to use the picks on other positions in the 1st 2 rounds. But if we draft a QB in the 1st I'm not going to be upset, if he's a reasonable 1st round choice. But really, who will even be there at 16? Richardson is the only QB that will possibly be available that is worth a 1st round pick. Reaching on a QB in the 1st doesn't make them a 1st round prospect. Young, Stroud, and Levis will all be gone. Richardson could be gone too. It's basically Richardson or bust at 16.

I'm sure glad you aren't our GM.

How would Howell compare to this class? “He’d be in there with Hooker and ahead of [Stetson] Bennett, ahead of Max Duggan, Jake Haener so either at five or six. I would have a second-round grade.”

Especially Jamf.
