I think we underestimate the advantage that older, and as such more mature and experienced players, have when playing in college against relatively much younger guys, especially at a key position like QB, and how good that makes them look in comparison. That advantage obviously disappears when entering the NFL.
Most nfl QBs don’t peak till late 20s early 30s. Drafting a 23-24 year old shouldn’t be a big deal and shouldn’t be a knock on drafting Penix. Aspects of his game, injuries those should be the focal points.
