This is a good test for Sam against a legit defense this week.

I hate to say it but it's been a month since Sam's last good game. The last 3 weeks have been miserable and Seattle was the last time he effectively moved the ball (but he still threw 3 picks).

If he keeps this up to finish the year it might not be much of a debate as to whether the next staff wants him.

I'm just glad McLaurin is still exactly who I knew he was, a stud.

Funny how everyone kept saying he wasn't getting open. Then Jacoby gets in there and all of a sudden Terry's open.

Sam has been playing subpar football the last month. His accuracy is off - he went 11/26 against the Rams before being benched. I can't tell if he's shell shocked from being sacked or if he doesn't trust his eyes but defenses have figured out how to play him.

He has definitely shown flashes, dropped some dimes, had some mad scramble plays - he's tough too. However, he hasn't closed the door on the 'do we draft a QB with our first pick' conversation. That's why it's important that he finish the season as the starter. I think I've seen enough to be ok with the new regime picking a QB in the 1st round though, either by staying put, trading up, or trading back. Everything's on the table.

This comment from Steven Ruiz is interesting:

The tweets below it (posts? Not sure what to call them now thanks to Musk) about Howell’s metrics this year are also interesting. My guess is the boss wants future GM and HC to have enough data to make an informed decision but it doesn’t sound good for Sam.

Also worth reading from Terry:

Yeah against a Rams D up 2 scores late in the 4th and playing effectively prevent. Not to diss JB but it's not representative.

I think Terry needs a true On Time passer as his QB , Sam is more of an off schedule QB.

I'm glad somebody else noticed.

There were no extra rushers and the 4 down linemen made no attempt to get to the QB so Brissett had all day to throw the ball unlike Howell.

Rams barely blitz anyway, but that doesnt explain why we hadnt had a 40 yard completion to a WR all season
