Honestly I think he was confident they would win and that what anyone else does didn't matter. Think he was also confident they would beat the Giants twice. s

That is typically when you lose, underestimating your opponent.

What is Ron known for? I know he played for bears .. but is he a Defensive guy or has he ever called plays ? I guess he views himself as a overseeing type guy .. I don’t know , nice enough person and I wish him all the best however I’m not sure why he is a head coach … he is not that innovative .. I can’t blame it on his age look at Andy Reid.. the better teams seem to have a head coach that excels at Offense or defense.. All I ever see is Ron starring straight ahead with his arms folded .. what exactly does he do ??

Lol. Completely agree. He brings nothing to the table. He certainly isn’t a personnel guy although he plays one on tv.

I was wondering this morning whether Rons lack of awareness affected whether he would pull Wentz. Obviously there is some ego in proving he was right, but if he had known the situation was a must win would he have pulled Wentz and put Heinicke in at the half. It seemed obvious from the 1st Qtr that Wentz was completely lost.

My point being the counter argument to those who said, not on here, that Ron doesn't need to know the implications of other games, that the situation dictated a shorter leash fo Wentz

I work with a lot of Pittsburgh people and they don’t like him. Say it is a general consensus among Steelers fans. Unbelievable

If he came out of last week with an 80% view Wentz should start, then no. Nothing to say, if he had faith in him, he couldn't turn it around in the 2nd half. Subbing him in the 4th or even mid 3rd quarter would show he doubted his own decision, likely why he stuck with him.

If he had a 55% view, then yes, he should have pulled Wentz as soon as it looked like he was lost.

Either way, this speaks to Ron's ego getting in the way of sound decision making. Wentz, to date, hasn't shown anything that suggested he should ever start another game. Screw practice, his game performance at the end of last season and early this season showed that.

We need a fresh new YOUNG coaching staff that will have faith in young guys getting their bumps in game and learning. We've wasted another year of Scary's capability, and while we've learned that Samuel and Dotson can contribute we've also lost an opportunity to get best use out of them too.

But next season hinges on a quick sale of the team so the new guy can begin rebuilding before FA and the draft. If we don't sell soon, Ron will be back and we'll likely end up letting Wentz go and pursue Carr. Likely a similar scenario to this season. :(

100% Agree, bring in Kellen Moore! He knows offense and the players like him.
