That Guy

6 games for Watson seems fine by me. Seems like others wanted more, and thats fine.
Guy missed an entire season (paid) but unless the victims testified to the NFL investigators (havent heard anything like that) then all there is to go on is civil complaints and settlements (which arent an admission of guilt).
Id think the League wont appeal, they kinda choose to go this neutral arbitrator route to avoid appeals imo and so they can turn around and point to neutral arbitrator for 6 game scorn.
league just wants the drama to go away i'd bet. hurts ratings.
The whole Watson thing is pretty disgusting. 6 games and a net less of about $350k for him. Really doesn't seem just at all. I thought he deserved a season long suspension. But the NFL is well known for taking it pretty light on their stars, so this is just par for the course. Still very disappointing.
It's why I have no hope for anything coming from the ongoing Snyder deal. They let all this disgusting behavior slide all in the name of keeping the money making machine moving forward.
This doesn't sound good

It's true that if QB gets a slap on the wrist, it's hard to imagine an owner getting more than a "Ah good ol Danny, no big deal, just try and do better from now on"...
Difference being the possibility of getting tired of the bad press on the long run still exists... But I'll admit it feels like the possibility, which was getting more likely to some extent, is fading away.

Nothing happens unless the money stops flowing... big part of the name change was the sponsors raising the issue. Unless advertisers start to boycott ESPN and FOX NFL broadcasts because of consumer sentiment then the money will keep flowing and the owners wont see a need to change

This is why the "Wentz is terrible and he is the worst decision the team has made" crowd baffles me.

Yup. I remember Sheehan had talked himself into thinking Mitch T might be the best option here…then Wentz move happened and stated he didn’t like it.
I like taking the bigger swing with Wentz than settling on a cheaper option, Mitch T.
@TomPelissero
The NFL is appealing Deshaun Watson’s six-game suspension.
Buckle up.
