Hate the pick. Hoping for the best.
Should have taking a QB or best Oline
A QB would have been a huge mistake. Heck I bet a few of the ones many here wanted us to draft at 11, prior to acquiring Wentz, will still be there when the Skins draft in the 2d.

I agree. They thought Hamilton, Olave, or Williams would fall to 16. That didn’t happen so they panicked and took Dotson. Getting the extra 3rd and 4th helps, but I’m convinced we could’ve traded down to the 20’s, grabbed an extra pick or two, and still got Dotson.
That's a bad assumption

*In my opinion* Dotson was a reach *at 16*; and I’ll assume again we could’ve traded back to the 20’s, added another pick, and Dotson would’ve still been there.

It's hard to judge WR's in college football... Defenses are so bad for the most part.
Everyone thought Jerry Jeudy was going to come in and light it up and he hasn't done much.. Every year there are guys the media hypes up to be the next superstar and they flame out.
Honestly the most crucial day is today
Yeah Jeudy has been a bit of a disappointment no doubt. But he now has a huge upgrade at QB. Big year for him. He has no more excuses.

And you'd be pissed off if we had traded to the low 20s and he wasn't there.
I think given the run of WRs, the team couldn't have traded too far down, if their goal was to get a WR and picks.

I think drafting a QB in the 3rd or 4th round is more of a realistic option.

Mayhew said they had offers to trade down from 16 and I would bet that Green Bay and Kansas City were among them looking to get the last of the top echelon WR, so it would be no certainty that Dotson would have been available at 20.
Don't hate this pick at all. Got a playmaking WR and an extra 3rd and 4th. Seems like a great kid with arguably the best hands in the draft. He was a one man wrecking crew at PSU and wasn't doing it all against inferior competition.

Especially since only one QB was taken in a first round. Which tells you how poorly teams think of this draft class.

For me, the trade down was crucial--nice move. They went with their top WR on the board at that point. Fine. Also will return punts? If we get talent in this deep draft in the 3rd and 4th, it's a win. If the kid balls like he did at PSU, win-win. Grading talent in drafts is a hard job, despite all the mocks out there...
