Not really. Not the same.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but the man's last moves or purported decisions that led to his tragic death just don't matter to me. It obviously does matter to some though. Hopefully y'all can use that information to save others...

I don’t understand why people want to give Haskins a pass here. If people wanted to constantly prop this dude up as some sort of role model, then we need some honesty. We are all kinda willfully ignoring past mistakes he made here, if there is a pattern then it needs to be called out.
I need the full story of Haskins that morning, cause this shit ain’t adding up.
No, no you don't . The only people that need or deserve any answers are his family and the two other drivers involved.

Doesn't matter. The toxicology question will be made public, so we'll be getting our answers, and we'll do with them whatever we please. Up to and including judging Dwayne Haskins for being a foolish, irresponsible, immature fuckup; if that's indeed the conclusion that toxicology results point to.
Y'all are some Myers Briggs Ps, I'll tell you what. But it's a J's world and you're living in it.

Also jamf you need to post more. The dry subtle humor goes underappreciated.

It's pretty clear that is what you are hoping for. Good luck man.
It's definitely a J's world.

https://www.wbal.com/article/563109/179/911-calls-released-as-investigation-into-dwayne-haskins-death-continues
“Kalabrya Haskins, who was calling (911) from Pittsburgh and unaware of the accident, told a Florida Highway Patrol dispatcher on April 9 that her 24-year-old husband had called from near Fort Lauderdale to say he was walking to get gas and would call her back. When he didn't, she told the dispatcher she tried to call him but he wasn't answering.”
1. Dwayne Haskins had a working cell phone.
2. He called his wife to tell her was walking to get gas.
Why did he not use his cell phone to get an Uber to drive him anywhere? He could have called a tow truck or looked up the local county road assistance number. Last option he could have called Police.
She called 911. That is a big red flag. Who calls 911 for a spouse that just ran out of gas?

First of all how does someone run out of gas? Never understood that especially with most cars these days that will tell you how many miles you have left.
I work in the automotive maintenance industry, the gauge being off due to fuel sending units failing is somewhat common. Common enough to keep 1 or 2 in stock. It's not unheard of.
Or Dwayne could be an idiot that forgot to fill up the tank. Either/or - he obviously made a terrible mistake just by walking on the highway and he paid for it with his life.
I'm with the others on this one - I don't feel the need to do a deep dive on this. It was a terrible accident and he made a fatal mistake. He's not the first and won't be the last. Hopefully everybody who paid attention to this learned from his mistake and maybe that means we'll see less pedestrian deaths on highways. Maybe not - but life goes on.

Nothing to do with the accident but this is just weird...
"The parents of Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins say they will not attend his funeral services on Friday.
“We have never met or spoken to the wife, and we didn’t want our son’s funeral service to be the place we met her for the first time,” says Dwayne Sr. and Tamara Haskins in a statement."
