Cutting Collins post June 1st pretty much covers all of the rookie contracts, practice squad and in season funds, so makes some sense to designate him to be cut then

Yeah, I think Hicks would be a good signing at MLB.

Have we not formally actually released Collins?

They said he would be released, maybe trying to see if some other team wanted to trade for him, as unlikely as that may seem they may as well try

Cut pre June 1 = 8.8 cap added, eat 6.8 dead

Cut post June 1 = 11.8 cap added, eat 3.8 dead this year, eat 3.8 next year

Im guess hes one of our 2 allowed post june cuts, we have to carry his full cap hit of 15.7M until June 2, when we get 11.8 in added cap.

Im guessing we can negotiate now as if we will have 11.8 added cap once the league year starts June 2?

Seems like the best strategy is to designate him a post June 1 and spread it over the following year to help get the cap we need to now.

They cannot use the cap saving until June 2nd, but they could defer a bonus until then I suppose

LB Jordan Hicks might be worth a look if we dont go big splash Bobby Wagner.

Added bonus with these two guys is that , because they were cut, neither would count as part of the compensatory pick formula

Defensive back Bobby McCain is signing back with the Commanders on a two-year, $11 million deal, per @DrewJRosenhaus and @NFLrecord.
