If this was any other QB you would not stop hearing about it

Hurts had 4000 yards passing last year, or is that cumulative over his career?

I think they're weaker at guard and the center is coming off a bad injury. Cosmi was just ok. Leno was a great pickup.

The thing is I don't think the drop in play (not talent, play) between a banged up Scherff and a healthy Schweitzer isn't that big.
I was high on Flowers and I don't know Norwell, but it seems like he's a solid pick up, we'll see.
Roullier coming off an injury is worrying to some extent, but, as someone here reminded me, Larsen filled in surprisingly well last year. And while it does take time to heal, I don't think a broken leg is the kind of injury that lingers (I know Alex Smith begs to disagree, but that was a freakish run of bad luck).
And I'd say Cosmi in his second year should provide solid play.

I don't really see the big drop in play from last year. One could even say we improved our depth.

Wentz at times has played as good as anyone .. and at times bad , but look at RGiii Rookie of year to injured to gone .
It’s not like the team has not tried to lure a Top QB .. Stafford,Wilson both were courted..
Fitz,Taylor,Allen last year Wentz,Taylor,Howell this year .. who knows but on paper I like this years group !

Interesting stat (https://twitter.com/PFF_Washington/status/1521976125924290560?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcam p%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet):

"PFF ranked the Colts offensive line 30th in pass-blocking efficiency last season, while the Commanders were ranked 6th

Carson Wentz still completed 62.4% of passes and threw for 27 TDs"

I also feel like he's gonna have a way better receiving corps than what he had in Indy. On paper Doyle, Hilton and Pittman isn't that bad, but looking at games, maybe it's scheme, but he wasn't getting a lot of separation.

Pittman was awesome last season.

As for Wentz, he constantly threw into double and triple coverage. Late in the season he just freaked out completely and made some of the worst plays I've ever witnessed, to the point where I feel that it could be fairly said that he caused his team to lose crucial games.

That and the fact that it was reported that Wentz had the same type of problems in Indy that he had in Phiily causes me to doubt that he can lead the Commanders. If Frank Reich couldn't fix him, how has he changed to give us hope that our staff can?

I don't buy into the idea that Reich thought Wentz needed to be fixed. He brought him in because he thought he would help that team win in a system Wentz was familiar with.

Wentz didn't cause his team to lose crucial games. He's the QB so yeah, he gets the blame...that's been the case for as long as the QB position has been held to a higher standard and determined to be 'the most important position in football'. The losing was a collective effort, and I think Reich would have been more than fine running it back with Wentz, but he doesn't make the decisions in Indy.

Chase Young and Carson Wentz need to have good seasons for this team to be successful. If they do, I think we're a definite playoff contender and can win 9 or possibly 10 games.
