I'm trying to forget about Gibson fumbling again. He is too talented to keep doing that. He didn't get lots of carries at Memphis, mostly played WR, so I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt. I like how he ran angry in the 2nd half.
Where I think it's a not that hard to fix fumbling issue is that he doesn't cover the ball with both hands when in traffic. He just has to be coached to do so. It's not like he just has weak hands or anything.

Yeah, he's a grown ass man. It's a technical issue, not a physical issue. But it has to be fixed. I think he can and really hope he does, for selfish purposes for our team and because he seems like a great guy, that clearly is an NFL player, if he fumbles at a league average.

That was awesome. Riddick was like I have a chance with this sp....oh shit that hurt.
Flowers is a really good football player when he plays for Washington. Very cool to be where someone actually plays better for us than other teams. Hopefully we can keep him and Wes.
Flowers has been playing really well for us for sure ! But as I told you guys this offseason, from what I watched he played very well for the Dolphins too. This was mainly a cap related trade.

Well you watch way more in depth film than me. So I believe you. But you killed my narrative.

Didn't he have zero fumbles last year? Need to take that into account.

I think that was me ... I said I thought Schweitzer played slightly better than Flowers in 2020. They both good PFF grades in 2020 I think. Im still a slight Schweitzer over Flowers guy but I wasnt against the move at all. Phins ate like 6M in cap, we got a steal in Flowers. Im a firm believer you need at least 8 starter able OL guys bc that unit has so much attrition.
Just hope we dont give him 10M per at season end.

Daron Payne ... seems to be less impactful as the games go on. he got a half sack to end the game but PFF has him down to a 59.4 and that matches the eye ball test.
Seems we picked the right DL to pay.

Payne is more of run stuffer than all-round player like Allen.
I'm surprised we haven't seen Matty make plays lately like he used to before he got injured last year. I believe this year is Matty's last year of the contract so we will need to make a decision between Matty and Settle if we want to resign one of them.

Also worth noting the nature of the fumbles. Getting hit almost immediately after the handoff isn't the same situation as going into contact. You're still securing the ball after the handoff, so it's the weakest point to be hit. But losing the ball consistently when going into the line/a tackle, indicates a problem. He's listed joint #1 with fumbles amongst RB's (5,Singletary), which isn't a good stat line. But as Frenchie says it should be fixable if he learns. He seems to be a learner to date.

- 286 ypg (would be 2nd in NFL)
- 76 rush ypg (would be 1st in NFL)
- 210 pass ypg (would be top six in NFL)
- 21 ppg (would be top ten in NFL)
This defense has been really good, they should have beat both GB and DENVER to be honest. Especially Denver
