I think we need some local journalist to do a deep dive researched article on RRs efforts to land a true QB to date. What better time then the bye week. I want to read a cited and multi page article.
Was there an actual viable option that he passed on?
- Stafford we got outbid and dont think we had a chance.
- Watson? Texans asking price is unreasonably high, lots of baggage
- Fitz? Seemed like a lot here liked the move given the alternatives. Cant blame RR for injury, while Fitz is older at 38 hes been healthy enough lately
- Darnold? Bridgewater? Wentz? Was tyrod taylor available?
- Herbert? We all had a hard on for Chase and Herbert is hindsight thinking and not fair to RR. Plus Haskins was still the anointed one at the time.
- Haskins? Should we have kept him?
Fitz seemed like the best most sensible option.
At this point ... go get Watson for next year? But you have to trade a ton of capital plus sign a red flag to a mega deal ... then hope he fits and works out. Phins reportedly had a deal done but Watson wouldnt settle with the victims out of court and that was one of the Phins requirements.
The combination of WFT's problems and Watsons's problems means there's no way he's coming here.
I heard on the Sports Junkies last Friday that part of Watson's settlement agreement was that he wanted all the details of what happened to be made public and his accusers wouldn't agree to that so he wouldnt settle with them. I found that very interesting.
