mooby 09-21-2021, 02:35 PM ^ I don't think the game threads are a really great barometer of any sort of football knowledge, certainly not the place for any sane or rational thought either.
That's it I'm leaving.
I was under the impression this place was some sort of football MENSA and the game day threads were actually college-level courses in how to become an expert on football. If that isn't the case, deuces.
It's all about coaching adjustments prior to the game, in-game and execution on the field. Otherwise we don't stand a chance.
Burgold 09-21-2021, 07:16 PM If our defense doesn't keep Allen in check, we'll lose!
htownskinfan 09-21-2021, 07:18 PM I agree with everyone that says this game won't be close.
Josh Allen gets 100 yards rushing.
Why do we not have run pass option in our playbook? I can understand them being afraid of TH getting hurt, but at least run the damn play, give the look so there's at least the threat of it,just pass it dont let him run with it.
I was pretty damn close with my pregame prediction last week, but would love to be dead wrong this week

not to pick, but it doesn't seem like you were very close at all. You said Barkely has his biggest game in 2 years. and had both teams at 20 or under.
That said, I think they are trying to get him used to being in the pocket and not running at the first sign of trouble. I believe they will add in more twists as he gets more reps with the ones, and IF Samuels comes back and plays the playbook will open even more.
Not this week though :(
FrenchSkin 09-21-2021, 08:53 PM Week 1 Steelers @ Bills is a fun game to watch if you like tough defensive football.
14 of the Steelers' 23 points came on: a blocked punt in the redzone returned for 6; and an incredible and kinda flukish TD catch by Diontae Johnson, DB tips the ball and he stills makes the catch, TD set up by a long DPI on 3 down from the 50.
So, I really don't see us winning this game, but, things that give me a little bit of hope:
-It is possible to put Allen under a lot of pressure, Pittsburg did it, so if our DL wants to prove they are actually top 5 in the NFL, now is the time.
-Heinickeee
Things that I already feared:
-Very tough, disciplined and complete defense
-Fierce DL, Taylor will have to make plays on the run
-Josh Allen can throw and so far we haven't proved we can handle mobile QBs well...
One scary thing that I discovered watching the game:
-The Bills running game is legit. Singletary has really good vision and ability to make a lot with very little space. Gap responsibility by our front 7 will be key.
Chief X_Phackter 09-21-2021, 11:13 PM Here are a few stats I pulled through the first two games. Obviously a small sample size and different opponents. This could be the best offense Buffalo has faced so far, and the best defense WFT has faced so far.
Honestly, if the defense plays to their ability, this should be a win. However, if the defense plays like they have the first two games, it's a sure loss.

Bills' D didn't allow 23 points, 7 of those came from a blocked punt ;-)
Interesting compiling though, thanks.

Agreed in that you have to be in position to make a tackle (not running down field after their QB), it's worth noting that to my mind, we've improved on tackling since last year. No more (or at least few) throwing themselves at BC's feet etc. I like watching St Juste play because he's a sure tackler.
Always believed that without sound fundamentals then it's so much harder to build a strong D. Now that includes gap assignments, so we're not there yet, but personally I believe this D can only get better over the coming weeks.
